yesterday i decided to change my valve cover gasket and while i had it apart i swaped my injector in #4 with a injector frommy neibors old camry v6 and put it all bback togather and......my miss went away!!!!!!!!!!! sweetness so i took it back apart a swaped the other 3 for the V6 injectors. i also installed my camry header i bought from ATman a long time ago. car runs awesome and is a lot more resopnive.

has anyone else ever put the V6 injectors in their 5s?
im just wondering now if im gonna run rich? they are obviously a bigger injector (four holes for fuel instead of 2) i dont know the actual rating on them but they work. they are red. will post pics of the header and down pipe soon.

ha.. I remember you talking about this. I can't say I know the cc's of either injectors off the top of my head. Glad it was the fix though.

If they're in fact bigger your gas mileage will suffer as well as your power compared to stock injectors. The 5sfe is already rich, especially in the top end, so putting in bigger injectors will make it worse. It's still better than running with a missing injector.

So basically its sorta like fixing a rough idle, by raising the idle. Not really fixing it, more of a band aid.

you should buy the safc 2 in the for sale section. then it will be making the band-aid ito a stitch. =D

I was told that the safc isn't good for leaning out fuel. I thought it was designed to do both lean it and richen it but I was advised to not buy it to lean out my fuel.

Plus its better to run rich than lean

to my understanding safc tunes ur fule to air ratio. maybe im wrong then.

Lol.... safer, yes...

And just by simple math, i know it's more complex than this, but the 5sfe injector actually supplies fuel to a larger combustion cylinder than the 1mzfe injector.

Sooo.... i would imagine it isn't far off.

Any black smoke?

No clue if black smoke never stood back and let anyone else start it but when I'm driving there is none I can see in my mirror. And yes the safc is used to tune the a/f ratio but I guess its only good for adding fuel not leaning fuel I don't get it but I've never used one

It's usuable for leaning out.... to an extent.

In all honesty, i don't think the injectors are going to be different enough to make you have to lean out to the extreme that you wouldn't be able to use an SAFC.

If anything, these might be a tiny bit leaner.

But they should flowmore so I'm not sure if it makings difference or not. Btw only a lil black smoke when its starts but only a puff nothing to worry about imo

For comparison.... an early 3vzfe as far as i've found, uses 200cc injectors.... i bet 1mzfe is around 210-230cc.

And you're right.. i'm sure it's nothing to worry about.... just maybe see how badly your mpg suffers and decide if you want to do something about it. Also keep in mind the car will make more power with the right a/f ratio as well.

On the other hand.... if it's rich.... yank a little timing and spray the hell out of it!!

Lol it runs like a raped ape it will prolly be better in two weeks when I change plugs again (ran out of money) cuz it has a slightly rough idle
