what are the main differences between ? i allways own a gts so i dont know much. ( 5th gens) some1 help. please and thank you

well for one, the GT had the coupe option and the GTS didnt, but another thing is that the GTS has wider rear quarter panels and fenders. The GTS also had a couple higher end options that wasnt offered on the GT

engine on the 5th gen was the same as the GT engine, the 5SFE. I think some also had a 3SGE, but that Im not 100% sure on. Otherwise, I beleive they had a little bit of a sportier suspension

Same engine. Same drivetrain.

I've heard it had stiffer suspension, but i think that's a myth.

And it's heavier, so it's slower. HOWEVER, the plus side, and i envy this VERY much right now, is that the fenders are wide. Very wide. But heavy. A fully loaded GTS will turn the scale at around 3000lbs. Ugh.

And you can fit a lot of rubber under there.

But, i also hate weight, and i hate engines with a displacement less than 2.0 litres (unless it's a B17A) so, the GT Coupe was the ideal choice for me out of the 5th gens.

^basically a gt-s is a alltrac without the the 3sgte, awd, and couple other features. I like the GT_s over GT because of the ciento44 was appling. Wider fenders, looks better, etc :hehe:

Well, I can't confirm any spring rates or anything, but they the springs are listed as different parts for the different trims on 1sttoyotaparts. And being that they are all physically transferable, one can guess that the rates are the separating factors.

Past that, the major differences have been hit.

But the coupe still looks better. :D

meh, I wouldnt say looks much better, I like, maybe even prefer the narrow body

The best thing that I like about the narrow body is that you can get all the same size rims (for rotational purposes) and the wheelbase doesnt look super narrow in the rear

I would rather have the narrowbody also b/c of the weight... Although I do like the hatch over the coupe, at least for now b/c that's what I have.

The only time I would probably choose a wider celica is if it's an All-Trac.

I'm torn between the two.

The wide body looks amazing from the front quarters. But takes some wide wheels or spacers to fill those arches.

The normal body has its angles also, and its much easier to fill the arches. The front wheels on my car actually stick out about 1cm. But i think ill still install 5mm spacers in the rear to bring the back wheels out a bit more.

The difference in weight hugely significant between the Wide and Normal body. Maybe 50-100 lbs.

My normal body Four weighs in at 1480 kg with half a tank of fuel. Thats about 3260 lbs.

Yeah I have a GT coupe (narrowbody), and mine is tipping the scales around 2600 w/o driver. The difference includes aftermarket sunroof(basically hole), 12 inch subwoofer, big amp, and some engine weight reduction (no ac, other misc things taken out).

The GT-S came widebody and hatch only. It also had automatic climate control.

It is heavier than all but the ST185.

I like the looks of it, but performance wise, an ST or a GT coupe is a better starting point.

I prefer ST, Chaos weighs in at 2300lbs with me.

I will admit extreme, your car probably wouldnt look near as good with those wheels if it were a narrow body

^True, i wouldn't have bought them if it were a narrow body. I do have good tastes ;-). Im gonna get spacers for the rear wheels to bring them out a little, not much. Ive always loved the 5 star and staggered pattern wheels and when i found these on clearance i jumped all over them. 450 i paid for these, retail was 900.00 for the set.
