View Full Version : Rain Guards/Door Visors from RHDJapan

03-15-2008, 02:34 AM
For those of you who bought rain guards from RHDJapan-YOU SUCK!!!
I went to them the other day to buy some and couldn't find them on their site, so I emailed them to ask where they were. I received some disturbing news. They said that they were completely sold out, and Toyota had gotten rid of the last of what they had several years ago. They said they do not expect to have them ever again. I'm really bummed. I've wanted some even before I knew they made them for us. I even thought about using some from another vehicle. I need them more for the functionality than anything else, I keep my window cracked year round no matter what. So, if anybody ever sees any for sale keep me in mind. BTW- YOU SUCK! :thefinger

when you use your windshield washers, does anyone find that it then flows sideways, and if your window is open, it will drip inside the car?

Yup.... every single time I wash the windshield... on the upside if you are doing 140 KPH and its raining you wont need wipers... the aerodynamic design of the car is so good that water will run towards the side of the car. Oh.. and if you haven't noticed: the rear winshield wont get a single drop of water on it

03-15-2008, 07:02 AM
wow that sucks, I was thinkin about getting some..oh well I guess you snooze you lose...

03-15-2008, 09:03 AM
It's a longshot, but I'll see if I can source any tomorrow.

03-15-2008, 02:53 PM
Sad, thats lame. Functionally, they are ok. I do like the look a lot...nothing to be super upset about though.

Lets work on getting the rear window visor people, COME ON!

03-15-2008, 04:11 PM
I had been looking around for those for 7-8 years after initially seeing pictures of them. So once I saw they were available somewhere, I didn't wait.. got them right then.

I do enjoy them, and so far have had no issues at speed with them. I hope they are available some how, somewhere for you all once more.

A guy on ebay always has one for sale, but it's around $600. I want one, but that's a little TOO pricey.

Yeah I missed out on it too... and I'm a smoker in WA so it could really have come in handy.

x10. This is what frustrates me about front clips/half cuts. Can you imagine how many of these have been destroyed whilst cutting the car in half?

Heh, you know, when I was at Champion I did the research to see about getting some of those here from Toyota Japan and we would have been able, but everyone was google-eyed over this other importer and wasn't interested. :duh: This stuff doesn't stay available forevers!

Sorry man, no clue at this point, I didn't hang onto anything like that when I left. You could always try calling Champion and asking Jeff to help you find them again, but without me there pestering I doubt he'll be too inclined (he seemd to want to deal with the rare stuff less and less over the last year, too much hassle I suppose), but you never know, guess it's worth a shot.

Found some- rain guards (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-90-93-Celica-Turbo-GT4-ST185-Door-Window-Visors_W0QQitemZ280209315025QQihZ018QQcategoryZ364 75QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) -and they can keep them for that price. :thumbsdow

03-24-2008, 02:41 AM
wow, thats rediculous.

03-24-2008, 02:14 PM
I looked at that and thought :wtf: Then I looked at some of his other listings like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250228082102&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=280209315025&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DDR%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3 DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D4 and i was thinking 'what planet is this guy on?' But then you look at most of his other listings and the prices aren't too bad, maybe this is a typo and it would be worth contacting the seller?

03-24-2008, 02:35 PM
You would think it would be in yin or some other currency buts its in US :hehe:

03-24-2008, 02:38 PM

Lol, yeah....And I thought the US$80 or whatever I paid for mine (ex-Japan) was expensive!!

05-28-2008, 04:19 AM
Just picked up a set on eBay for about $150 incl. s&h from JDM_pro_Tokyo, don't know if they're gonna get anymore in their store though.

05-29-2008, 02:32 AM
In my notes...I have this part # for them

I looked it up on 1sttoyotaparts.com but they don't show that # available in their catalog. I haven't checked with Toyota yet but these #'s were provided by someone who works in the Toyota parts dept.

05-29-2008, 03:12 AM
^Alltracman78 can confirm those numbers for as he's a Toyota tech!

05-29-2008, 03:23 AM
That's the part # that's listed over at alltrac.net, but it doesn't show up on 1sttoyotaparts.com or any of the other trade motion people, I've been tempted to call my local stealership and see if they can get them for me...

05-29-2008, 06:21 AM
I doubt if that part # would show up in US websites or parts lists etc as I believe it's a Toyota Japan domestic part #
I ordered mine through a Toyota dealer here in NZ and they had to get them from Japan. It helps that theparts guy is a big ST185 fan so probably went the extra mile to find them for me.

05-30-2008, 03:30 AM
YEah the guy that supplied those numbers is a Toyota parts guy and an ST185 nut. That being said, I think he bought his from RHD Japan for price reasons.
