Ebay. There is a thread on them here somewhere.

Later model Camry headers will fit, and are a decent performance jump because you're going from a log style manifold to tubular.

Most find that it's within 1hp of "performance" headers, and not to mention a lot cheaper from your local junkyard.

If you're looking for more bling, check out "SureWin" on ebay.

Alternately, there's the 4-2-1 tubular manifold found on 3SGE engines -- easiest North American source is from a fourth-gen GTS.

^I can source one of those if you want, as well.

I haven't found this to be true. I have yet to find a usdm 4th gen with the yamaha headers. They only seem to be from outside the US.

Kikkoman- where do you live? I am wondering what the concern for passing inspection is.

You want one? I can get you one. :)

It's a two piece 4-2-1 off a 1989 GTS. Guy quoted me $75 last time.

It has to be the GTS, which got the 3SGE, and I've only seen them on 88 and 89 models.

Question is, does that include the 2-1 piece -- the downpipe, basically. It is often forgotten when the manifold is unbolted from the car.

Yes, I'll take it! I've had one for several years now, but I've been wanting to get another. I especially need that second piece, the secondary/collector whatever you want to call, I never got one with the first header and I had to make one.
Pm me with some more info.

How was using the 3SGE manifold for sound (volume and tone)?

Very loud, but with an aggressive tone. I've been asked by a few people if I have a 6cyl.

Up to 2001, four-cylinder Camrys used the 5SFE.

97 or 98 to 99 is what you can get the Camry header out of, maybe 00-01 but I really don't about those.

Ponder this: On a four cylinder--Kikkoman--its only a header.

I prefer the Camry header...less chance of shotty quality taking a poop on j00

You mean like bolt ons?

Assuming you have a 5sfe right now, a 3sfe would be a step DOWN.

Intake, header, exhaust work well together. Will you see 10hp out of it all? Doubtful. It'll feel better, though, better throttle response, and you'll SOUND fast.

Colder plugs, mill your head. Another ~10hp.

Remove power steering, a/c, heating system.

And strip the interior of that bish.

It'll be entertaining.

If you don't want to strip, and just want more power out of the engine, check out the sticky in the N/A Tuning section on the 5sfe. There's a lot of good stuff going on in there.

3sgte would be a large step up from a 5sfe, yes...

Going from 130-135 crank hp to 200+ crank hp.

still wondering about the intake, headers and exhaust will it really only give me 10hp thats surprising how little it helps. how do some people get there celicas up to 600-800hp i know they have the turbo and all but thats a huge jump from the original 200-250 hp that the 3S-GTE puts out

Built bottom end, ginormous turbo, probably two fuel rails, 3" or bigger exhaust, intercooler the size of texas, 2.2 stroker, $4000 in tuning.

That's just to start.

You're working with a 5sfe, an engine that Toyota built for longevity and efficiency. It's got too many restrictions in the stock head design for you to see that much of a gain from i/h/e. And really... 10 horse for a 4-banger with those mods is NOT out of the ordinary in the realm of n/a.

The 5SFE is a decent engine, some good torque, might be faster than about 5% of the cars on the road, but it really isn't worth dumping money into for upgrades. I've been upgrading my 5sfe for almost a year now, and after all the money and about 5-15 horsepower later, I say to save your money. Either save up for a swap or go out to dinner with your girlfriend.
