The engine mounts on a 5s equiped celica are the same as the ones on an alltrac right? I am asking because I am considering replacing my rubber mounts with speed source Polyurethane mounts because mine are shot...

No they definitely are not.

Now I am confused... if the mounts are different then why is everyone going around saying the 3s has the same mounts in practically every swap thread...

or are they only speaking of the chassis side of the mounts?

so your saying I am completely screwed and have to go with the squishy stock mounts?

They may not be the same exact part, but some of them are interchangeable. The left and right are essentially similar, but the front and back are more specific to the transmission.

The fronts I think were different. When they say the motor swap is a bolt in, you keep your current mounts and put them with the 3SGTE.

And I remember the rear is interchangeable from ST184 and 185 but the fronts are different. Or vice versa.

*shrug*

Either way, they're not exactly the same.

The rear (the one closer to the firewall) is different.

Oh, ok. Knew it was one or the other.

The mounts will ultimately depend on the transmission the swapper has used. If the swap is with the stock S53 trans, then it will be the original mounts. Unknown if they match at all. If they use the E153 of any sort, they need the 3S mounts that work on the Alltrac for this transmission. It goes further into detail, but if you go by the guidelines of the transmission, that will usually tell you what mounts are in place front and rear.

If you want teh urethane, go with the inserts from kirkosaurus. Here's a thread about them- http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27059&page=1&pp=25

you can use the speed source inserts with your 5sfe mounts. I am using them in my 5sfe mounts. you should also get the bushing set from speed source.
