And i figured out it's more cost effective to repair all the rust on this crx then it is to buy one without rust... The minimum without rust is like 2,500 within 250 miles of me. So i'm guessing the unibody frame rusted through will cost me at most 300 if they have to cut and weld metal in for the frame.

Then maybe 300 to fix all the rust around the wheel wells I might be able to get it as little as 150 because i know a guy who does it around here with fiber glass patches and stuff. Then i'm going to just store it for awhile and save up enough money to paint it in candy apple green. (thats the plan anyways) I've always wanted a CRX in candy apple green it's my favorite color on the crx, that color looks like crap on a lot of cars but the CRX it just looks nice for some reason.

I know this sorta sounds ricer but it's an SI and needs a paint job why not give it a good one?

Anyways i'll post up with progress and stuff. If the frame cost over 500 i will probable find a scrap crx and swap the stuff over to it. (trying to save on my personal labor) I just got done dropping an engine don't want to do it right now :-P

I have never seen a CRX that was clean. My definition of clean is probably very extreme.

Basically, a set of tasteful rims and normal paint job with a mild exhaust. A body kit is okay so long as it doesn't disrupt the flow of the car. Wings are out and fart cans are out.

I'd have to see CA green on a rex....I just think thats a color that you'd laugh at about yourself ten years from now.

Yes it's a CRX, ignore the EK headlight cradle.

I've seen candy apple green on some "good import" cars with like middle age guys who work on cars professionally. I mean it's to my taste so i don't care too much what other people think.

When i say clean crx i mean close to original or better. Crx's can be maintained properly but it's rare and if iti s the price is insane. You have to do a ton of pre-care to prevent the double layer metal from rusting. Most people don't have the time or patience when they buy a crx. When i say clean i mean zero rust and "decent" interior no tears.

i have to ask why are you buying a crx? granted around here you see primered ones that think they are the fastest things in the world, i have yet to EVER see a nice one, i would just rather have a yota and where i live i dont have to worry about it getting stolen

Dude that car is badass on so many levels.

I bet the cardboardfiber body kit is great at high speeds. And the wing....oh how I love the wing. Balsa wood makes a great light weight solution to keep your FWD car on the ground when you're doing 150................

You KNOW you dont miss it.

I do miss it, though.

I miss the nasty side-exit exhaust and blowing fireballs at mustangs. I miss those same mustangs just thinking it was generic rice tuned too rich, and getting the surprise of their life and being deafened for the next couple of days.

I miss the feeling of "Oh shit hang on!!!" that it used to give me. It was the closest thing to a crotch rocket you could get to while still being IN something.

Will i ever do it again? Probably not. I have no interest in paying more for axles than i did for a car.
