Car 'O Death!!!

http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/car/589781718.html

Do want. Bad. :(

Got a buddy locally that wants to trade me a built, sleeved LS Vtec for the Snaab.... Will let me put the stock turbo and ECU back on the Snaab.

EEERRRRRRGGGGGG.

Errrrr huh?

B18B block with either GSR/Type R/or B16 head. I've seen it done with B17a head, too, but that head is virtually identical to the B16.

They aren't unrealiable if done right, they're great motors. There's no reason for them to be any more unreliable than a stock GSR or B16/B17. The only issue to run into is the ricers that think just because their B16 can rev to almost 9k, they can rev their stock bottom end LS Vtec to the same. Can't do it.

And it really becomes a moot point when you're working with a built motor, anyways.

I dunno what to do. :( The need for the Snaab of a daily no longer applies, the Coupe now runs, and the hatch should be running within 2 weeks.

Anyone want to trade me a mildly built 3sgte for teh Snaab?

I know absolutely nothing about Honda engines other than a few engine codes and that you can actually make a commuter car go fast.

Toyota's are another story...twas what I was raised on.

I'd get that for a winter beater if it were cheaper.

you guys are haters, and I've not heard of an unreliable honda except for the passport which was an isuzu to start, that was hondas worse move. It's at a pretty good price, body doesnt seem to be too bad at all

Never said they were unreliable, almost anything but. Just utterly and totally devoid of taste or style.

that was referring to celica91gts's post. Back in the day though, the civic wasnt really meant for "taste and style" for the most part, as honda was making a good reliable car with great gas mileage for commuting and such. Where as I dont care for the hatch so much, I dont think its that ugly, but I'd MUCH rather have a CRX, I really want to get my hands on one. I almost got one a while back, had a custom 2-tone paint and some nice upgraded wheels on it. I drove it and even though it was slow, it was fun, I loved it.

Honda was 40mpg before 40 mpg was cool.

There are not bad cars, but they are kind of overdone, toyotas ftw!!

Oh hellz no (yeah, I said it) :P I own an 88 N/A, it's one of the best balanced cars I've sat in, in a looooong time. It's not nearly as fast in a straight line as my 165, dear lord no, but it can take curves at silly speeds, much higher than I would attempt in my 165 (for now....). The GE has plenty of grunt, and a very wide powerband. It's a great engine, it's just vastly misunderstood and very few people are willing to put in the effort to make it shine because a turbo is cheaper. It is a heavy beast though :squint:

I'm familiar with the handling prowess of the MKiiis... they're honestly my favorite supra, but that's another story.

But... it's a brilliant chassis that is let down by the rest of the car, and the Turbo only begins to address those issues. It can handle, and needs WAY more power, and to lose about..... 1000lbs.

I just don't think i have the means to make an n/a one behave as i would want it to.

I would still love one, even n/a. But there's other cars that fit my likes better than that for $800.

Such as my 92 GT Hatch. ($600)
