In 1997 Lexus changed the front bumper, added side skirts, changed the rear bumper. With the new front bumper came actual fog/driving lights with H3 bulbs.

Well, as can be expected, I'll be doing the front bumper and fogs this summer. The problem is that Lexus charges over $100 (I think) for ONE fog from the 97+ SC.

One member on Clublexus found out that the 99+ Dodge Intrepid fogs fit nearly perfectly once you take off this black ring that fits around it. They are flush and look practically OEM.

You can get a new set on Ebay for roughly $50, or find a set a junk yard and shove them down your pants...lol.

Here's a picture for comparison:

This guy has the Intredpid fogs with an aftermarket front bumper. (flush mounted.)

This guy has the OEM 97+ front bumper with OEM fog lights.

I will be getting the front bumper as shown in the second picture.

Should I do the Intrepid lights or wait another decade before I have $200 to blow on OEM ones.

My mind is pretty much made up...but its nice to have an opinion. :D

those intrepid lights did work pretty well didnt they, but is the light pattern on them still forward or are they off to the side a bit? Car looks good though, are you gonna make yours look just like that?

Whats wrong with Dodge stuff Ben? lol

They may yellow up over time but I'll be keeping them clean on a regular basis to prevent/slow that. Look at some of the first gen Neon's that you see floating around. They ALL have extremely yellow headlights unless they've been taken care of. Dodge is notorious for that. If you take care of them, they'll look just fine.

You already know how I feel...

If it's cheaper and comes anywhere close to working, get it!!

Do they project in front more or out to the sides??

Nuffin.

Just put that yellow film stuff over them in the beginning, it'll look awesome, and you'll never have to clean it. :P

I like the Dodge ones. Just waiting for an OEM bumper with them in it...maybe I'll be the first, because no one else has posted pics yet with them.

I don't know if I'll be putting the yellow film over them.

They make cheap yellow 55W bulbs from some brand called Nokya on Ebay for like $15 shipped...might get those. Or If I do the film, I'll get 100W bulbs (Nokya's are 55W).

Dunno....its a few months off. Uncle Samuel needs to send me my rebate check so I can spend it on Japanese goods .

Nokya is a decent company. I run their bulbs all around.

Did you get that tax thing straightened out?

Thats good to know Ben.

And yank....yes I did get it straightened out. They just found out that the bank rejected it on Monday and they told me that a paper check would be issued for sending on March 7 and to expect it in my possession three-five days later.

State refund check came today. Apparently they figured the mistake out as well...lol
