View Full Version : AC relay question

Since my AC doesnt work and I dont plan to fix it, nor would I really use it anyway, and a friend of mine needs a couple relays, I am planning to sell them to him. But when I looked, AC fan 2 and AC fan 3 relay, and noticed in the other relay/fuse block there is fan 1. When taking a look at relay 2, I notice it controls 2 circuits, so my question is does this relay switch what fan is being used? Say AC is working so the regular radiator fan is cut off, and since the condensor fan is right in front of the radiator, does it turn that on instead as a cooling/condensor fan? If not then what exactly does it do and wheres the difference? Also, pulling the AC MG relay wont effect anything else, corrent? Any info would be helpful, thanks

Relay 2 allows the 2 fans to turn togetehr if the AC is on.
You don't need it if you have no AC.

AC MG relay I assume is the magnetic clutch [compressor].

ahh ok, so I was close to right then. As for MG, thats what I thought it would be for was the clutch, but was thrown off by the MG since usually the abbreviated letters mean seperate words, but that was my assumption as well. Thanks for the help
