I dont know about a 150 amp but I do know that an auto alt puts out like 20 more amps than the stick alt and bolts right in.

Yup, I have 850 watts, and the headlights dim on med-high settings. And I have the auto alternator, so just to give you an idea...

3 amps at what output? amps can be pretty week so number of doesnt really tell much. As david has said in a different thread, there is a mod called the big 3 which increases the electrical output substancially and should help take care of the problem. A 2nd alt would be way too excessive, and a cap does only bandaid the problem, I have noticed that you tend to need a lot more farad's than they rate it at. I have had good luck with the cap I run with my kicker though, but its a 250 RMS system and its a 1.5 farad cap

Powermaster makes a 170 amp Denso style alternator.

Be ready to drop about $500 on it.

Just a heads up, a Delco CS-144 housing will fit with a little work.

I don't know this maker but they claim to have good high output alternators:

please, let us know about your choice
