Nice first gen!

Welcome to CTech! How did you find out about us?

thanks fellas for the warm welcome.

VikingJZ - 'neutsdU reteP noraA' from the Classic-Celica.com Myspace group posted up a thread on how it was lacking 1st gens. I joined hoping to increase numbers.

celicaGT90_05 - I'm using 'Taiyo' High compression 3.5mm o/s pistons (increasing cc's from 1588cc to 1750cc) with matching 1.5mm head gasket. But now I changed the h/g to a metal 0.8mm Kameari one hoping to increase the compression even more.

I got the had shaved and the block decked to gain compression. To compensate for the lost material when installing cams, I have got Kameari adjustable sliding cam gears. To reduce friction on the timing chain in the head I'm using the Kameari idle gear that replaces the chain guide.

Together with some head work are 288/304 deg regrind 3T-GT cams, (. 375) 9.52mm on 288 and (. 410) 10.41mm on 304 nothing to wild yet. The cams are very aggressive at around 3-3.5krpm to 5krpm so far as I'm still running in the motor. I will let you know how 6krpm goes next week and 7krpm the week after and so on! lol.. I'm hoping to combine TRD 304/304 with 10.6mm lift in/ex soon. But if all fails I will get some regrinds of specs 50/96 278 @ 50 thou (0.428) 10.87mm lift 320 duration in/ex.

With these cam specs I have the head port/polish/matched as well as porting the manifold my self to match the soft mounts for the 45mm webers with ram tubes.

My exhaust will be 4-1 headers, but since I'm still running in the motor I have a set of 4-2-1's on for now.

If you have any Q's about anything I have done please don't hesitate to ask as I'd be glad to answer them for you.

its been a while since I've seen a 2TG. :bigthumbu
Interesting linkage setup - are you running a cable down there? I can't tell from the pics. Also - are you using a balance tube on the intake?
Points or pertronix? :)

goretro77 - yeah I'm running a cable. No balance tubes on intake, I got Redline rubber soft mounts. As for the dizzy It's Toyota with 22R internals. Yours was very nice too, saw your clip on youtube.

Any of you guys need a 22rte? There is a legitimate one local to me with tranny for $1600.

Oh, and just for me, could you puuuhhhllleeeaassseee re-host those pics on this site's galllery? I can't see them at work, and i don't have a running computer at home at the moment. :(

I wants to have happy time at work.
