I have a 90 gt with 195/60/14 wheels...doing a disc brake conversion in spring
& I got hold of 15' rims off 7th gen celica...here's the question... is it possible to install a 205/60/15 tires on it? will it rub? Tire rack says 195/55/15 but the gts is 205/55/15 & goodyear, crappy tire & firestone says I could use 195/60/15. Pls help.

Good idea to grab some 7th gen rims. If the rims at 15 inch, what are the width? I actually do not know the width of 7th gen rims. That will define if 195/55/15's will fit, they are obviously made for a 15 inch rim as the measurements states in the last ratio. You could go with 205's as well.. an I would suggest you do. I doubt it will rub, I run 17 inch rims on 215's which are even a thicker tread, so I imagine I would rub before you do an no.. I don't rub. The larger 205 will look meatier over the 195's, I honestly think you'd be ok on 195's.. but they will wear out more an the 205's will look more aggressive on rubber, the 195's might look thin, what I call rubber band tires. haha. As for the series.. the 60 or 55.. I would go with the 55's.. it will be a lower style, more sporty.

Ultimately, if I had to.. I'd choose the 205/55/15's before the other sizes, this will give you a better profile, a more sportier tire.. the others might be bobo

Hope that helps, you might want other opinions though too.. never know.

Thanx. I talked to some tire dealers & they advised me the same thing., either go with 195/60/15 or 205/55/15. Asked for 215/50/15 all season & they don't have it (bridgestone g009)
