I want to buy this.

It even has the Japanese dealership sticker on the back.

Toyota SERA

For those that do not know, it was a car with gullwing doors not sold in the US. Its RHD too. Sweet little car.

Go to Wikipedia for more info.

to be honest, you do NOT want one of these.

Being in NZ, we get a lot of 2nd hand cars through our country for well over a decade now. As such, you get these more "unique" cars come through.

My friend james had one. Small guy 5'6" and skinny. He could get into this car.
Me at 5'10" had to contort my body and slide into this thing. It is a dinky piece of crap.

Oh - and some wanker decided to break into this car to get the stereo and broke one of the windows - over $1k US for the door window (and this was back in 2000, think inflation now) and over 2 months to get the window from japan.

Not to mention the front lamp that was leaking as well! more $$ and more time wasted.

Its gutless, seats are hell uncomfortable and you can't get anything in the back either..

Japanese dealership sticker? whats so special about that?
Would my celica be any more valuable if it had a dealership sticker from japan? Uh no! I would have scrapped it off anyway.

Looks like an f'ed up Paseo.

I've seen that car around town too. It may be small and cheap in Japan, but around here, in Bremen IN, we just dont get to see neat stuff like that very often. Mostly farm trucks and other cheap shit.

I for one would love to have one!!

The thing about that car is that I wouldn't want to put a stereo in it. I already have a car that I'm doing that to and can't afford to do it to another.

Most people WOULD think it is a geo Storm.

I thought it was until I went up close and was like, "No shit!"

looks like a glorified passeo

Reminds me of a Paseo front end with a Mazda MX-6 rear.

MX-6? The rear doesnt look at all like an MX-6, more like an MR2 rear cuz of the way the tail lights are shaped around the corner

i think its not bad. why is it for sale? if so how much? would not mind owning one. but not for long. with that money it would be better to import something a little better.

pretty cool. i like the side window. just like the DeLorean. its got the small window inside of the big one. but i wouldnt want to own one.

I think he meant mx3. It does look quite similar to it.

ahh yes, MX3, thats the other car it reminded me of, couldnt think of the name

Looks like an f'ed up Paseo.

That's basically what it is. :)

The SERA is a unique car in the States because it was never sold here.

Sure, it looks like a normal car, but the Gullwing doors are very unique and something not found here.

"The Sera EXY-10 was available with a 1.5 L inline 4 engine. It came with either 4 speed automatic or a 5 speed manual transmission with Anti-Lock Braking system as an option. The car is related to the Toyota Paseo, and shares similar floorpans, suspension, steering and brakes."

Although cool, i'll pass. It has pretty bad handling from what i read to since the whole top is glass. And i always thought what if a rock chipped one of the top or side glass parts? Your F^*ked.

Didn't this car also sell as a Daihatsu in some countries? Kinda like the Scions are in europe?
