gt engines can only have 5 speed. as for your engine swap, depends on what you want. if i were you and i had the money id drop in the gts engine and that would come along with the 6 speed manual gearbox.

This would prolly be best, cuz you could buy a front clip, couldn't you? Then you'd get the motor and tranny at the same time...

a gts 6spd tranny would bolt on to your motor, in europe the dealer gives you a option to have a 6spd on your gt, now the problem is that you have a auto which means you have to switch out axles, tranny mounts, clutch, flywheel, and of course tranny, shift linkage and a few small parts i am missing out on. best bet is to buy a complete swap or sell it and buy a gts.

Trade up to a GT-S.

There have been swaps into the 7th Gen, such as the 3SGTE, but they are very difficult compared to swapping it into a S engine equipped Celica.

this option does not change the fact that you have to make an automatic car into a manual. the problem is not swapping out the gt for a gts engine. and about ur turbo. im sure u can make a kit after you've done extensive research. but if u do that its a whole different ball game. u'll have to run like. 5-7 psi. or get forged internals and up the boost. if i were you, i'd swap in the gts engine. do n/a mods to it and it will be a really quick car.

Actually the GT is supposed to respond better to a turbo because they have a lower compression ratio that the GTS. Somebody correct me if Im wrong.

your life would be 10000x easier if you just bought a GTS.

As they're nearly the same price as still very common dealership cars, there is absolutely no reason to put this much work into the GT. Trade in.

That's pretty high for a car with 117k.
