Definately happy I made this purchase. The new celica GTS are really amazing. Its a whole new feel compared to the old 5th gen.

Awesome! What year is it? Good color choice. I'm hoping you got the 6spd.

Its a 2000 has the 8400 revlimit and you bet its a six speed. That was one of my requirements when buying. Only has had one owner too and 58,000 miles

Very nice, good choice!

nice upgrade. great mileage too. nice pick-up. and yes there is alot of difference between the 5th and 7th gen. so i see you have been hitting lift  ........

Yea everytime I hit it it still amazes me lol. I was so used to the 5th gens power dropping off but the 7th gen just keeps on gettin better the higher you rev it. It handles so nicely too. My only complaint would be the shifter but I ordered my short throw today so that will be fixed soon. This celi isnt gettin any body kits either. I wanna go all performance with this car. Only exterior mods I have planned are a set of Kosei's, a carbon fiber hood and the TRD wing with the carbon fiber center.

Looks good. Loads of kit available for it, though not so much for the engine it seems. Some of the guys over here have supercharged and turbo'd them, makes for a real beast! Would need a decent aftermarket ecu though to control the boost and lift together.

Badass.. nice homework on which to get!! :bigthumbu I've been in a 7th gen 2000 GTS with a good driver.. and it is a quick car just out of the box, definitely as quick as a swap 3S-GTE car. Very fun.. nice pick for the mileage! Watch that shifter though yo!!!

I paid 10,500 for it which i thought was great considering the condition. Interior is spotless and there is only a dent about the size of a pencil eraser on the passenger quarter panel. I have been watching the shifter cuz i read about the small shift gates but I also got full warranty on it just incase anything happens. Its definately a fast car out of the box. I raced a guy in an old scuby today and he asked me if it was one of the new toyota celica turbo models lol. When I said no he just looked at me like I was crazy. That made my day

Nice car! Just make sure you are careful with your shifts! A good habit for this car is to put the palm of your hand on the left side of the shifter with your thumb pointing down so that you are pushing the shifter away from you on your upshifts.

If you need any advice on modifications for the 2zz, don't hesitate to PM me. I would be glad to give you advice.

Also, it would be a good idea to order a couple of the revised lift bolts and replace the old ones.

Thats already exactly how I shift lol so thats good. I had been thinking about ordering the lift bolts. Where do I get the from You got a part number or anything.

There is a TSB (#EG010-03) issued regarding intake and exhaust lift bolts for 2000-2002 GT-S models. The bolts are experiencing some heavy wear under lift usage, and have been known to break off, causing a bit of work to remove the broken pieces. To prevent this, it is a good idea to replace the old bolts with the new style bolts (part# 90105-06293). You can get the bolts from your local Toyota dealer. Cost should be between .60 and .80 cents a piece. This is a simple install, will take anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on your skill level.
