Im so upset right now.

I hit a pothole on friday night and I figured everything was fine. Tonight out to dinner, noticed my tire was low. Took it home, filled it with air, and 10 minutes later, down 5 PSI. Pulled the wheel off and looked at it, and lo and behold I have a crack in the lip.

Im pretty sure its repairable, but damn its so upsetting. Theres a place here in town that should be able to do it. I really hope they can. I dont want to buy 4 new wheels. You cannot find these things anymore. Therye Konig Villains 17x7 with +35 offset I think. Anyway, heres a pic of the carnage... URK.

Anyone got any experience with anything like this? I have a local shop called Wheel Werks that should be able to fix it. I just need some consoling right now... I love the way these wheels look...

Here is a picture of them on my car, you can see why Id be so upset to have to replace them. I love them

That looks totally fixable, a bit of welding and machining and a touch of paint - just a PITA in the meantime. Do you know where the pothole was and are you able to get reparation from the body responsible for that particular piece of road? (Not sure what the regulations are there, I know people have successfully chased compensation from council/local government here for similar cases) and/or does your insurance cover this?

i had a wheel do the same thing to me. i took it to a guy that had an aluminuim welder and he ground it out and put a bead on it for 30 bucks. i did the finishing work on it and it works great. make sure it balences after you get it done. it was just a good excuse for me to get 17x8 for my alltrac too because one of the other wheels in the set was warped and wouldnt balence.

LOL at the ridin dirty.

Its fixable, 120 bux, and it should be good as new.

Its worth the 120 bux to me cause I cant just go out and buy a new one of those things. Havent been in production for awhile now.

Costs about 20 or so of that just to get the damn tire unmounted, remounted and rebalanced.

Dude... that's not that bad... At least there's more than a couple of those wheels in this country...

That's what happens when you're just having a fun time going down one of the super fun, isolated forestry roads and you find the biggest pothole in the whole of the damn state.

Yeah, that was Eric's wheel.

*oh yeah, it looked like that on the inside too.*
