Well, i got into in accident, on 12/11/07 at 8:00a.m. sharp. which was not my fault but a bus which i collided into head first. Luckily, only my left forearm was broken in two places and nothing more besides some bruises. Sorry if i type wrong im kinda drugged and using one hand lol. But i still think i dont realize that i dont have a celica anymore which is absolutely killing me. The EMT and police officer said if i was going 10MPH faster i wouldn't be hear today, so i am ungodly thankful. i have pictures and there hard for me to swallow, so just a warning.
Dont worry as i will not drive anything but a 90's Toyota, so i shall return w/ a celica or other sports car (toyota wise) in the near future when i can drive again.
Love ya guys(no homo),
CJ Cavanagh

Oh and 19celica90, god damnit, why after the wreck you offer me the same color all-trac hood as mine? :duh: :smokin:

wow, that sucks, but we are all thankful that you are still here today and the injury isnt too big of a deal. The thing about the 10MPH thing is if you were doing 10MPH faster, you probably wouldnt have wrecked because you would have been past that point already.

Glad to hear you are ok....

If you are looking for a project car one of the yards near here just took in a 92-93 GT-S in great shape just has a seized motor. The thing has leather interior, the works...I want it for myself but you have extenuating circumstances.

Hey man, glad you're okay!

If losing your car is the worst day of your life, I think you're doing pretty well 8)

So what's it gonna be? MR2? Supra? Celica? Celica-Supra? Shopping for a new car is a good pick-me-up

Ouch Caveman. As the others have said, hope you have a speedy recovery and glad you are still with us.

It is, and it's damn addicting. If I had my own place by now with enough property I'd still be out collecting cars

Wow Cav...thats some damage for sure. But the passenger compartment still looks pretty solid. Glad it held up and protected you from worse harm. Now you can get one of those all-tracs your always drooling over in the for sale forums. Get healed up and find a dandy ride to show off at the '08 Speed-Source meet. Laterz, Toyota_Todd

Glad you're okay and best wishes.

BTW, there's an '81 Celica GT Sunchaser 'vert 5spd for sale for $1500 in decent shape on the Minneapolis Craigslist (runs, needs a head gasket, but those 22Rs are easy to work on). If I didn't need a four door and/or had a place to store it, I'd be all over that.

2nd gens FTW!

Sorry about your loss. Let's hope that you heal quickly.

A point of interest: Did your airbag deploy properly? I think that I can see it in your photographs, but wanted to make sure. I've been wondering how dependable 17-year old airbags are.

Hey Cavanagh - Reall sorry to hear your baby is no more, but very happy to see you walked away albeit with some minor panel damage :)
The Celica we can replace - the Eskimo Kid = irreplaceable!! :)

Hope you mend real quick and best of luck with the insurance and consequent new car hunt. Hope you don't struggle opening those Christmas prezzies one handed!

the thing about it is, if its a 4 lane road like that, as long as they keep in the lane closest to them they are allowed to turn at the same time as you, but not take your lane. At least you're doing ok, should make a good recovery

12-14-2007, 02:08 PM
Wow man, really sorry to hear that- Glad you're ok though, and on the bright side chicks dig scars right? If you need any help finding a new 90's Toyota let me know, I'd be happy to help you hunt. (I'm not too far away.)

I think you misunderstood the diagram (it took me a bit to figure it out, too). He was going straight in the right lane (he's the red car) and the bus (yellow) was turning left. The bus driver couldn't see him because of the other cars turning left and decided it was clear. The bus then turned into his lane.

I am so late on the news these days, but I wanted to offer my condolences on the loss of your Celica. But she did an awesome job of keeping you alive, so I'm grateful. Also I wanted to say that I hope you feel better. And that I think the drawing is really pretty decent all things considered, lol.

Thanks everyone! everybody keeps convincing me that i will get a kbb price on my car or more, which is 4500+. I dont know how much ill get or how this works since i've never had this happen, but everyone says they get a nicer car then they started out with. if i get 4500ish give or take, thats 1500 more than what i paid for my car! Ill see what happens and let ya guys know. MR2 or swapped celica/alltrac(if i can afford it) is what im seeing.

one other thing that bugs me is next quarter at school is engine rebuilding,:( guess ill have to learn by watching.

i went to kbb, put in my mileage (131k) and features, thats at the excellent rating though. lol ill tell them it was in excellent cond. before this happened. idk, ill prolly end up with more or less depending on my damages.

Wow, sweet! I had no idea 5th gens had that high of a KBB value. Now I want to wreck my car more than ever! That'll take care of all the nagging problems this thing has!

Seriously though, cool dude. Hopefully it does work out and you get a nice upgrade from the ST.
