2004 Suzuki Aerio SX AWD hatch
2.3L, 155hp 152ft-lbs
2900 lbs
97.6 in wheel base
23 mpg city/ 29 mpg highway
64 cu. ft of storage

Priced $7,000 - $8,900

First off, it's AWD, but not as expensive as a Subaru and also more compact. This is great for Midwestern winters or wet weather.

Styling is attractive to me. It's got the whole Japan-runabout look to it. Which, if you were in Japan, is old news. But here in America it stands out. It also comes in a variety of attractive colors like the yellow you see here, mica blue, and a very nice shade of red. The black Hatch looks carbon-fiber esque from a distance.

Only issue I've heard of was that parts were difficult to source just a couple of years back. But I don't think that's a problem anymore. If I buy one of these by 2011 or with less than 100,000, I get the balance of the warranty.

Let it be known this is the same as the legendary Liana that is thoroughly trashed in Top Gears' "Celebrity in a reasonably priced car" segment.

Except I really doubt that version is a 2.3 like this, or AWD. I'm fairly certain it's a FF 1.8L.

Yep! :) That's the general idea.

... however, if I retire this, it might be nice to bomb around some rally courses in... I would imagine that 2.3 could put down some nice numbers given an adequate turbocharged setup...

Not bad. I pass those things on the freeway all the time :bigthumbu: The point of that obviously is that parts shouldn't be too hard to come by anymore. heh heh.

My original post stated that I thought it was similar to a Chevy Aveo, as the Sprint was a rebadged Swift, I was wrong, the Aveo is a rebadged Daewoo.

I edited it after I Wikied it, and I was wrong. The edit was under a minute, thus it doesn't appear that I editted it.

But how much did you pay for your subaru?

I don't think I can afford your subaru or the insurance that comes with a turbocharged car

Remember Gran Turismo 3, where for some reason, you could tune that thing to something around 1,000 hp and do wheelies on the test course?

Having said that, I have to say the celica retains the title for the most badass Pikes Peak run...

http://www.toyotacelicaonline.com/celica1/fastest/pikespeak.jpg

Rod Millen drove that celica to a record 10:04.06 run with a stroked 3SGTE.

Sadly, that record was broken by the legendary Nobuhiro Tajima in this year's run, with a time of 10:01.40 in a... you guessed it... the escudo (known as a Grand Vitara XL-7 suv in America).

You could say he got quite used to that Escudo. He's been running it for something like a decade.

yeah but that car handles like a complete brick in GT3, in GT2 if you had it the game was done lol I still havent played GT4 though, not enough room on the memory cards....and been too lazy to get another

GT4 is nice, it has the Nurnburgring (sp?) and the Le Mans track (Sarthe?) but you might as well just wait for GT5.

As for the Escudo in GT4, they completely snipped its balls. The game makes up for this by supplying a lot of classic LM cars that are even FASTER. I think the fastest car in the game is the 1970 Toyota 7, a 800hp, 5L V8. That thing FLIES.

well i guess its nice for what you want it to do. would be my first choice, but its an ok little car.

nah I cant do that because I'm always way behind on video games lol I dont keep up and I love the older ones I have so I cant rid of them. I am actually going to try to finish up some games I havent beaten yet before I move on, then theres other games I have to get that I've fell behind on. My brother always keeps up though so I still beat some of these modern games then transfer the data when I get them myself

Suzuki's are pretty shitty from what I've heard. My ex's mom had an X90 and it was the biggest piece on earth.

You heard otherwise? I'd never buy one. I've heard others say that too. I won't buy Hyundai, Kia, Scuzuki, Mitsubishi, or any American car

If you want a cheap car, wait for the Nissan Cube. Ghosn says he wants to sell it in America for around three grand...yes THREE GRAND for a toaster.

WOOT

I agree, any used subaru would be great. Thats what I want.

Besides, the car goes down in value right off the lot several thousand dollars. Right?

I think a used 2.5rs from 2000 would be the coolest, thats what I'm looking for for my fiance, either that or any year legacy with a 2.5 and leather. :)

I fell in love after messing around in the snow with my cousin's Legacy this winter, I gotsta have a subaru in my life now.
