Hey guys, just wondering what the difference between block numbers are, like i know that the 3S is a 2 litre, but what is a 5S or 7S?

the 5S is a 2.2l, and I've not heard of a 7S, do you mean 7AFE? It's a 1.8

ahh yeah, 7a. is the 4a to the 7a what the 3s is to the 5s? does that also mean that the 5s is more tuneable becuase it has more displacement.

Nope, the rest of the code means a lot as well... like 5S-FE vs 3S-GE. The F/G designation is for the head design. F is for fuel economy while G is for sport designation. Any Toyota w/ a G designation in the 2nd part of the engine code was either built or designed by Yamaha.

There has been a lot of success with the G designation motors with making power but that doesn't mean there are none for the 5sfe.

Oh yeah, when are you going to get me a Toyota engine manual for the Gen 3 3SGE?

:)
