View Full Version : GPS mounting locations

Hey guys, I'm wanting to buy a GPS system, I've wanted one for awhile, but my work is having some awesome GPS deals tomorrow for Black Friday, and I'm going to have my parents pick one up for me. The problem is that I don't want to use the windshield mount that they usually come with. I want to have it mounted somewhere in the vehicle and have it look flush. What have you guys done for this? Here is a pic of the places I was thinking of:

*Note, the holes are most likely smaller then the size of the GPS, but this is an idea of placements I was considering.

Any ideas/suggestions would be great. Power isn't an option since the GPS has a rechargeable battery.

if i were you if think about remounting your cd deck at the lowest red spot you drew. that would mean getting rid of your 12 volt outlet though. this would leave the whole area from between your top air vents to your climate control free for your gps screen and it also wont be so low as to make it difficult to see.

Its def a custom install in you want it in dash. I would save up and buy a screen deck with gps functionallity this say you have an all in one system. Expensive yes, but you would not have to hack up the dash if your trying to preserve your car.
