The 5th gen was the most female inspired car built at the time. Even the (s) in ST stands for Secrectary.

See the alltrac article I posted a while back.

I've only found my celica to be a girls car in that it attracts the ladies :bigthumbu

I would like to see a Celica that hearkens back to the early models. Light, RWD, fuel efficient, well built. Ideally a modified and updated 3rd gen. Pop-Ups are obsolete now, but I would like to see a return to a Celica-Supra trimlevel as well.

In what capacity? If he's not in the actual design or corporate I'd take any information like that with a microscopic grain of salt. Noone in a dealership really knows about this sort of thing before the press does.

5th gen is a VERY girlie car haha.
Probably why the majority of people that ask about our cars
are females asking "what kind of car it is"

Toyota needs to go the Hyundai route..their new Tiburon is a RWD 300hp monster..Should be deadly.

I doubt theyll go RWD for the celicas however.

Man, F^*k Hyundai, honestly, every car they make looks identical or resembles another car companies vehicle, shits really starting to piss me off, i looked at that "Genesis" thing, looks like a damned Camry! There BS never seizes to amaze me. /Rant :hehe:

What form the new Celica might take is open to debate, but the recent rumblings of a low-cost RWD model might hint at the future. If Scion gets the rumored rear-driver, is it too far of a stretch that an upmarket version could don the Toyota emblem? In short: we hope so.

I think they are taking their "information" a bit far in this one. Like I said in my "The new Levin?" post, Toyota has teamed up with Subaru to produce a lightweight RWD car based on the Impreza platform. This goes hand in hand with rumors of a returned Levin, which has been rumored much longer than a new Celica.

Mark my words, the new RWD will not be a new Celica. It will be a Levin, if not something else.

Unless... maybe they convert it to AWD, give it an STi engine, and call it the new GT-Four. Uggghhhh....

Oh god, I think I'm gonna be sick...

The new tiburon may look like the G6, however, I would rather have the tiburon priced at $19,000 off the lot with a 2.0L turbo and 215 horsies than any other car rolling off the lot for around that price..
Or you can go for $25,000 and score the 300hp V6 ;)

Hyundai has the right idea.

Oh and its RWD.

Saw the new Hyundai on the road at night, I thought it was a G6 until I got behind it and saw the badge. Two of his tail lights were burned out.

The new one that looks like the G6 won't be out for at least another year.

The current one is the Ferrari baby.

I think what Hyundai is doing is great. Their car may look like other cars, but thaat could be said about Auto design Trends.

Besides, Toyota intended the 1st celica to look like mustangs, and most of us don't seem to care.

he spoke with the people who went to the facility and actually seen and spoke with japanese designers of the new tundra. they talked alittle about what cars are still designing for the future lineup. the avensis might be a in the US lineup.

honestly id rather own a toyota that was rusted to pieces or even a HONDA than own a hyundai all of this talk about a tiburon being batter makes me sick. i think toyota should really go back to the old body styles of celica the new ones look funny. i personally love my celica and wouldn't trade it for hardlr any car (except mabe to upgrade to a gt4) i dont know. but still
