View Full Version : How much would you pay

How much would you pay for a 88 Alltrac with 188k miles body in perfect shape, original paint in perfect shape, upgraded suspension has koni-yellows all the way around with H&R springs up front & a spare set of ground control coilovers, original rims & tires, has KVR slotted front rotors with Porterfield R4S pads, goodrich stainless steel brake lines, original engine with twin entry setup, has the whiteline front sway bar, interior in very good shape except for a bubble in the dash, has a Apex'i AVCR boost controller, also comes with a JDM MR2 3S-GTE with unknown mileage, a brand new GTE head still in the box, a ACT 6 puck clutch set new, a OE clutch set new, a spare front bumper, spare alltrac body kit, spare interior parts everywhere, another spare 3S in peices, couple spare ST165 intercoolers, car also has a cracked aussie downpipe.

What do you guys think is reasonable price considering condition mileage & all the parts that come with it. engine in the car is original with 188k on it.

Wow, been a while since I've seen you!

2k, at most.

10-28-2007, 11:11 PM
yea I got burned out on the celica stuff & had 2 kids & life happened & now I looked at my poor GTS with no engine & am trying to work out a deal on this alltrac I want to take the JDM MR2 engine slap it in the GTS & sell the GTS to get some money back on what I spend buying the alltrac.

10-28-2007, 11:26 PM
I think with all the stuff you are offering with it, considering the upgrades to suspension and such, I think its worth 3000-3500 easy.

MrWOT needs to come post, hes the "expert" on 4th gen Alltracs around here.

It has been awhile Jeremy.

10-29-2007, 01:47 AM
3000ish. PICS?

10-29-2007, 03:57 AM

Nice to see some people still know who I am lol

10-29-2007, 05:22 AM
That's a clean 4th gen! I wouldn't mind owning that.

10-29-2007, 11:29 AM
3500-4000k because lack of rust, straight body. I'd guess you could sell your swapped halftrac for about 3k easy. The parts are putting it over the top on price. Since your asking I'd guess he wants more for it.

Any mods to the car are not part of the purchase price. You don't pay for mods IMO. The motor is probably worth another $1200 if and only if it has the JDM ecu and wiring harness to go along with it.

10-29-2007, 02:41 PM
well the car is beautiful, it drives good, it boosts well, allthough it seems like the current owner hammers on it pretty hard & the motor has 188k, he overboosts due to the 3" exhaust & hits fuel cut. The spare engine does not have an ecu, I beleive it's got a harness but not the ECU. he says he put $5500 into the car by trading 2 other cars for it a truck & a miata he traded for it. I think he is thinking the amount of money he put in those 2 cars is how much he wants for it. the guy he traded the truck & miata to wanted $6000 & the original owner had sold like 30% of the parts, I am just trying to see what a reasonable amount is for the car. The Halftrac is allready sold for 3k, awaiting the deal with this guy on the alltrac so I can take the spare MR2 engine & put it into the halftrack. Honestly I don't need most of the parts just the MR2 engine & the engine in peices would be nice, but it's a package deal. So you guys think 4500 is a reasonable offer. I want a realistic value on the car. I know what the parts are worth

10-29-2007, 02:50 PM
I'd take it for a couple grand, I kinda want a 4th gen to fix up, and an alltrac one would be great

10-29-2007, 05:40 PM
4500 would be a reasonable offer. But most sellers aren't reasonable.

I am not selling the car I am trying to buy the car. I think the seller is standing pretty firm on the 5500 he wants. I will continue to try to work out the details. Is the general consensus that the whole deal is reasonable at 4500?

10-29-2007, 07:04 PM
^ yeah I didnt think you was selling it lol I was just stating my opinion, if I had a couple grand right now it would all go in to my celi

10-29-2007, 07:36 PM
wow thats really nice. I say around 3-4k give or take a little. Thats what i call prestine and worth every penny. Thats actually very cool that its in really great condition. Im assuming the interior is as well correct?

10-29-2007, 07:57 PM
only problem with the interior is that there is a bubble in the dash, but there is a spare dash in perfect condition to go with it.

10-29-2007, 07:58 PM
Consider how clean the car is, I'd say $3k-$4k for the car alone.
You probably know how difficult it is to find an ST165 in such condition.
Then you need to make a deal with the seller about those extra parts.
Some of these worth $$.

- a JDM MR2 3S-GTE with unknown mileage
- another spare 3S in pieces,
- a brand new GTE head still in the box
- an ACT 6 puck clutch set new
- a OE clutch set new
- a spare front bumper, spare alltrac body kit, spare interior parts
- couple spare ST165 intercoolers

and minus
- cracked aussie downpipe.

10-29-2007, 09:29 PM
who cares how much its worth! offer him $1800 and go from there.

worst thing you can do is offering $3500 when you could of had the car for $2k

10-29-2007, 09:33 PM
^ agreed, the car is depreciating since its older and not as advanced, just offer him a little and if he refuses and you really want the car, work out an agreement, see what he really wants and see if you can spilt the difference

10-29-2007, 11:54 PM
yea that's what I'm trying to do I offered $4500 and he flat out refused, I don't know if I can see paying $5500 for it, I may have to

10-30-2007, 12:36 AM
Look like the seller know what the car and extra part worths.
I know it's risky, but get them all and sell the parts to recover some $$.
All those parts worth well over $1k.
Or make a deal with him and only buy what your want?

10-30-2007, 12:39 AM
^ agreed, the car is depreciating since its older and not as advanced
I'm not quite agree with this.
A pristine condition (rust free + good paint + good interior) Alltrac keeps its value pretty well.

10-30-2007, 12:50 AM
thats not what KBB would say

10-30-2007, 01:08 AM
KBB? :squint:
KBB says a 98 Supra TT worths $26k, $4.8k for a 95 MR2T, and $4.1k for a 93 Alltrac, and $1.3k for a 88 Alltrac.
All of these cars are usually sold for at least twice of what KBB says.
It's all about supply and demand.

10-30-2007, 01:11 AM
yeah it says 1.3k for one, not 5k lol my point is try to pay as little as you can, not as much as you can, why spend more than you have to? And those other prices sound about right, 98 supra tt's go for a hell of a lot of money, just like turbo RX-7's and other shit like that because those are the cars people tend to really want to get their hands on

Have you ever get a quote of a brand new 3sgte head?
He was asking:

not KBB price.

10-30-2007, 01:33 AM
Ok I am quite confident that the car + parts are probably worth $5500
The only reason why this topic exists is because I was not sure about the value of the car, I see alltracs here & there on for sale boards & most have cancer or broken down so I could never really evaluate the going price on a ST165 in great condition. looks like they are worth alot in that condition. I will offer him $4500 cash & see what happens, he'll probably say no, but I can try.

Parts excluded, offering $2g isnt unreasonable, now is it? He just now mentioned that the guy has probably spent $5500 in parts which makes it more worth spending that much, but if the car was stock and just in good shape, I'd shoot for around $2g which IS reasonable

10-30-2007, 02:45 AM
You have your opinion, I have mine. :)
I think $2k is far from "reasonable" for a rust free, good paint, good interior, and with 2nd gen 3S swap ST165.

10-30-2007, 03:26 AM
I think if the ST165 was bone stock just in prestine condition with 188k it would be worth about $3000 in my mind. I am gonna get ahold of him now & see what I can work out.

10-30-2007, 03:42 AM
Well guys I made the offer waiting on a reply. I'll let you know if I a going to be the new proud owner of that ST165

10-30-2007, 03:47 AM
Good luck.
It is one of the cleanest ST165 I have seen in a while.

10-30-2007, 03:47 AM
my celica was rust free and I paid $350 :D

10-30-2007, 05:29 AM
my celica was rust free and I paid $350 :D

:lolhittin I wish I could find a rust free alltrac for $350 even with no drivetrain I would scoop it up in an instant

10-30-2007, 06:05 AM
me too, too bad mine isnt an alltrac but then again I'm good with it just bein a GT. The previous owners didnt show a lot of concern for the car, I got it and fixed it up a bit and it looks 100x better plus runs better and also doesnt lose oil now. I could probably get a lot more for it now, but I love the car so I couldnt stand to part with it, it just needed some lovin.

10-31-2007, 05:57 AM
Looks like I worked out a deal, I will post more pics when I pickup the car. Once I pick it all up I will have alot of ST165 parts for sale! Including the NIB 3S-GTE cylinder head, the OE clutch, a set of H&R springs, a full set of AGX strut cartridges, possibly the stock wheels, the spare front bumper, and alltrac body kit, 2 ST165 W:A intercoolers, along with the stock heat exchanger, maybe a turbo. Stay tuned
