Wheels look GREAT in my opinion, looks so clean with the white.
If you feel like sprucing it up at all, ever think about maybe powdercoating the rims? If you powdercoated/painted them gold that would be gorgeous..

Reason I say that is because I stumbled across this when looking for possible cars to import for myself..

The rims look pretty similar.

All you need is a drop and itll look absolutely 100% perfect.

Kudos on the clean ride :)

cheers guys im glad you think it looks ok there is loads of bits i would love to do - the only problem is i work for myself and the lack of time along with the fact the car is in daily use makes it difficult to start anything which may take any amount of time .i have done work on the underside of the celica rear of sills underside of wheel well around the brake compensater, and iv just bought today a new fuel filler pipe assembly from mr ts i will post more pics in my garage gallery as soon as can - cheers guys keep up the good work - lets keep these gen 5s alive ................................

x2... How about some interior shots of the car?

I'd like to see what goodies the european Celicas got from the factory. You guys usually get more luxurious interiors and options than other places worldwide.

That looks great, nice to see another white UK 182 on here! yours looks sooo clean  I also think the wheels look great :bigthumbu

Apart from the underside tidyup (something i plan to do very soon) do you have any plans for the car?

tripod23
11-01-2007, 10:17 AM
cheers dan one of the things im planning is a custom stainless exhaust [ i say custom because i want it to look as close to original as poss without it being too loud ] unless anybody has any ideas for the exhaust . iv put polly bushes on the front end [ rear end very soon ] and im thinking of some anti roll / sway bars maybe whiteline because they seem popular and im also determined to get the syncro problem on the gearbox sorted not that its that bad just because its annoying and im sure it could be better.this car is a story of my life always trying for perfection - i must be crazy but hey thats life how about you and your st182 any plans for the future or have you done everything - cheers guys keep it up and not only with the car ..................

That's very nice. I've never seen a Celica that clean where I live. I like the wheels. Not too big, not too gaudy. I think powdercoating the wheels in bronze would look okay, but I think white would be fabulous (if that's something you would like to do). Otherwise, I think a small drop will help fill out your wheel wells nicely, and you'll be set.

As far as further mods, I say that Celica is too beautiful to do anything permanent to it. Just keep it clean.

IIRC ALL European specs came with headlight washers.

i have been thinking over the last few days about powder coating the rims in white after seeing some rsl ricochet wheels on this very website but my stud arrangment is 5/100 and i cant seem to find these wheel with that pattern unless iv missed it..............i really like the fact that the gen 5 celicas look as fresh today as they did when they came out of the factory, you wouldnt believe how many people think this car is relativly new they cant believe its 15 years old ,im thinking of a drop the only thing i dont want is for my filling to come loose when im driving it so i would have to retain most of the ride quality [ any suggestions would be great ]

Mongoose 182 exhausts are really quiet, I have one fitted- it has a small 3.5" single exit pipe- see here:

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p27/Dan_Qsu/100_1090.jpg

but with a custom you can get exactly what you want, looks and sound wise of course! probarly wouldnt cost too much more either.

As for the synchro problem, do you get a crunch or is it just a little stiff? I found when i swapped the box oil (needed to swap a shaft) it freed up my box quite a lot. Many folks in the UK put a certain type of dextron rated ATF fluid in too, which is meant to be even better- could be worth trying before playing with the box innards. I just used castrol EP.

Let me know how you get on with the ARB's. I'm planning a rear end strip and rebuild very soon, and I'm unsure which ARB to go for.

i have tried everything with the gearbox oil synthetic [ dextron the red stuff ] its notchy in first down to second and into third from fourth to third - third to second and so on .its had a brand new toyota flywheel and clutch fitted .it feels better when the box has been put back with the new clutch then after a while the notchy feel returns like the grim reaper.............. i know the service guys at my local toyota and yesterday i spoke to big steve down there to get a price for all five syncros to be done and now im just waiting for him to ring me back.he told me when they had this problem toyota modified the syncros so when you buy new one you get the modified bits - just worth remembering .i want to put a short shifter on the gen 5 but i dont want to do it unless i know i have got a slick shift change im thinking of getting a second hand box and letting them strip that one when its done get if fitted when iv got a spare couple of days...............................i will let you know how much i get qouted from mr ts
