So I hit a deer tonight coming home from work. Shit I didn't even see it and somehow I managed to hit it. I saw one like 1 lane over on the sidewalk, but I never saw the other if there was another..

The damage from what I saw so far is... my passenger headlight and the trim is gone, aftermarket fogs are gone, bumper looks like paint is missing, oem fogs seemed ok.

Pictures to come in the morning ):

Be careful how you word this to your insurance company and or the police.

"The deer hit me" means you are not at fault and are covered/no ticket

"I hit the deer" means you are at fault and may get a ticket or may not be covered.

I know it sounds stupid but I have been through the exact scenario....I was fortunate, the deer hit me.

That sucks, hopefully it's not too bad. If the hood and the fenders are alright it sounds like a quick fix.

Hopefully you can get it back on the road soon.

I can't imagine how you'd prove that a deer hit the front of your car as opposed to the front of your car hitting a deer...

Doesnt sound like it was too bad of damage.

That does sounds rather silly to me...
Imagine,
Hitting the deer...
Having to pay for damages..
AND getting a ticket for it, just for the wording of your sentence.

I would be pissed.

Looks like you got away pretty easy. Should be an easy fix. The animal managed to stay away from the more expensive parts like the hood and fenders. The crack in the bumper can be fixed and it can be repainted.

yeah, definately got away with minor damage.

Yeah the bumper I repaired awhile ago from the original cracks when I purchased the car. but I'm not sure if I want to repair it this time since I have a new bumper sitting in my garage.

Does anybody know the part #s for the clips on the side of the bumper to clip onto the fenders?

and anybody have a set of CF trims? I need the whole headlight trims and hood trim since my two look like crap.

Also anybody have any diamond headlights? or one to replace my broken one?

ebay has the diamond headlights for about 25 shipped for a set. other then that sand down the bumper and primer it. put the stock foglight trim back on and no need for aftermarket foglights. at least thats what i would do.

It does sound silly but when you're dealing with "The Law" everything you say will be scrutinized. I had a guy pull out in front of me and of course an impact occured. I made sure the police reports stated that "an impact occurred" and not a "guy in big truck hit dumbass in car". It was still a fight to get his insurance company to agree to pay. And it was an open and shut case. There was no way he wasn't at fault. It was cut and dry his fault according to the cops on the scene that gave him his big ticket, yet he and his insurance company felt compelled to drag it out as long as they could before admitting guilt.

I decided not to claim it on my insurance since it would be $300 deductable which is pretty much what it will cost to repair I think.

and Does anybody know the part #s for the clips on the side of the bumper to clip onto the fenders?
