It will function just like any other short ram intake.

Meaning you will get slightly better throttle response and a loud roar from under the hood.

No more power.

There are 5 popular forms of snake oil and theories that run around the internet that usually give little to no REAL performance that overcome the downsides:

1. Intake / Cold Air Intake
2. Race / Performance Headers on a stock 4 cylinder engine
3. 20+ HP Chips
4. "Performance" Spark Plug Wires
5. Electric Superchargers

Stay away from these until you do your research and learn why they dont make sense, and if/when you will need these things.

No more power? When I put a cold air on my ranger I noticed a good power gain, so I'm sure he will get somethin. Though, that may be why ram air is different from cold air

a higher-flowing exhaust manifold aka header doesn't do anything to a NA engine????

on muscle cars and the like that is the cheapest form of a power boost that you can do to your engine!

A short ram intake or cold air intake will increase throttle response. This can be mistaken as a huge power gain.

Intakes can increase power, but not if the stock intake was well designed and free flowing to begin with.

A header will indeed add power. However, again, it won't add a huge amount. It will increase economy, just like an intake will. The two together will net maybe 3-5% increase in power and economy.

intake is intake man. its a pipe and a filter. nothing more, what your paying for is looks and fitment. i got a weapon r because i like looks. but the main point is. my weapon r intake is as good as the stock intake pipe with a k&n filter slapped on to it.

trucks are different then our cars.... intake for a truck will give more gain to it then to us. i know that if a truck got an exhaust system he would gain a lot while our cars might gain less then 5 hp

Notice I said 4 cylinder. Especially on the 5sfe. Headers dont do much at all except give the person you sell the car to a reason to believe it was raced, and a starting point to haggle your price. So does the intake.

who said anything about selling a car? an exhaust manifold with a new high-flow cat is a good starting point for modifying the 5sfe if you are going to. its not that big of a difference, but it doesn't hurt. especially with the poor design of the manifold that is on the car.

that is retarded. a header is an improvement over the stock manifold.

noisecheck, if you are going to upgrade your intake, then take this advice. don't replace the stock cold air intake with a short ram/warm air intake. that is downgrading imo.
