hey peeps,

can you lower a car just by changing the spings or have you gotta do the shocks aswell???

well. you got a 5th gen? your gar is gettin up there in age ya know. struts are prolly toast by now. 15 years of loyal service will do that. but yes you can just change the springs

15 years is a long time. If you have the money, do the whole thing, springs, strut hats, struts and insulators. If you drop the car on struts that are gone or about to go, can be DANGEROUS!!!

I would do a bunch of other stuff too... Change the brake lines to Stainless steel braid, brake fluid. Give yourself plenty of time and please use spring compressors safely, Spring popping out can kill you.....

yes agreed, you can lower it with just getting springs, struts are only there to dampen the bound so your car doesnt bounce all over the place, but as said it would be best to replace everything while you do it, plus it'll save you time for when they do go bad, you wont have to tear it all back down again
