i like it. i've never seen a red one though, thats a first. my bro had an 85 gt with an ugly tan-diahrea color to it. it rusted out until you couldn't open the doors. but it ran like a champ!

It's original so I give it props on that but cars these days are so nice that even though the car only has 42K original miles and no rust, it's still an OLD celica in the end. Props for the condition though.

burnyd im curious as to how the most reliable generation celica is somehow a pos :slap:

you guys are starting to remind me of the people i see every year at the toyota show here

basicly if it aint turbo , swapped, or have a 5000 dollar audio system they dont care

its ok, you guys that dont have one dont know nothing about them, but oh well at least i can build my factory engine almost as much a 3sge but last longer , will cost me half the price ,and if you wanna go swap, well swap for the 3rd gen is endless, and if u say is not awd, well, thats why i have a built suspension on my 85 with will out do most ae86 and then theres always that subaru :ohyeah:

edit: oh and i may be going 7m in the next 2 months :thefinger

If it was the noch back, it would be Glorious. Someday, I will get a GTS notchback... and swap a v8 into it. :D

Dooooo eeeeeet. A proper 7M sounds glorious at WOT.

I also think 3rd gens are hot, even though they are not the most leetsauce ever. I think MKIV supras are better than MKIII supras, but I still love mine to death and think it's awesome in its own right. I don't much dig red, but otherwise that one is nice.

im soon to have a rod knocking 7m in a few weeks (kid blew his motor, i get the old one for helping)

so ill have 2 engines

anyways im confuzed as hell why theres no love for the 3rd gen, now if it was a 1st gen no one would had hardly said a bad word

Heh, don't be mad, I think it's just cause you talk about 3rd gens so much and say pooey things about later gens. ;)

In my book, 2nd gen is the only bad looking one. 3rd gen, is super sweet.

i agree with coldiron, and i've even seen a few 2nd gens that look pretty nice.

the 3rd gen in question is beautiful. i don't see why people hate on 3rd gens either? i've wanted a good condition one for quite awhile. there's a decent condition coupe just across the road from me. the rust isn't terrible, but it isn't totally clean...it's got rod knock though. i think the guy said he'd sell it to me for 200 last year. it's just been sitting since. if i had a trailer, i'd buy it up and take it to my parents to slowly rebuild. i need to do something about that before he gets rid of it.

I <3 1st gens personally... And I hate the 22R... I know it's reliable but if I wanted reliability I'd drive a camry.

Agreed. You do harp on other gens not being 3rd's quite often.

As to the 7m, I'll say this. If I could redo all my plans for my 1st gen, I would not put an I-6 in there. I'd suck it up to and get a V6 (2 or 3grfe) via fabrication, or stick with an I-4 of some sort. There is a very good reason why the Celica Supra had a much longer front end.

But my view might also be tainted by a carb->EFI conversion being a PITA.

I have always liked a 3rd gen. I prefer the Supra though. I like the nose.

VikingJZ

The old Supra's are nice too.

My 72 has 34k miles on it but has spent its life in the Northern part of the state. It's been garage kept, but still has rust.

Shall be restored by the end of next summer.

I miss my 3rd gen. They are all over the place here in Tx but most aren't good enough for a rebuild
