so tonight the wife and i were driving home from the new house when i pulled up next to a hemi magnum at a red light. when it went green he took off like a bat out of hell.. so i figured what the hell and rolled up next to him at the next red. we kept nose to nose till my turbo spooled and i pulled on him damn hard. im sure i pissed off everybody behind us with the cloud of smoke i dumped out

Cool deal. Yep, more than likely you're in the high-13, very low 14 range in the 1/4. Ran a magnum at the track in an MR2 and pulled on him about 1/2 a second after the 60 ft or so (that magnum ran about mid 14 all night)

told you guys.. :hehe:

wtf have you done to that truck anyways? i know you used a bullydog tuner, but which one and what else have you done? do you still get the same mileage with the modifications?

09-15-2007, 02:48 AM
^if not better. My bro has the edge system in his truck and huge difference in reponce and calibration to ecu and tranny ecu. He says towing loads are easier since the edge measures and adjust for everything.

yeah, apparently diesels respond very well to modifications. They make tons more power, lower EGTs, and better fuel mileage. i want one...

bullydog tripple dog w/ outlook digital monitor, crazy larry tune ( lists that its supposed to add about 250hp, and over 400lb of tq)

4" turbo back exhaust w/ 5" tip, no cat, no muffler,

bullydog intake

ppe boost intake valve. put my peak boost at 31lbs.

and thats about it

the cummins is a impressive motor.

09-16-2007, 10:32 PM
they don't run as as quietly though.

who cares about noise?

speaking of noise, i bet your truck sounds fucking mean PC.

09-17-2007, 04:01 AM
ive never heard mine outside the truck. what i can hear from the inside is bad ass. Driving through a tunnel at wot is amazing.

people usually say they can here me coming a few blocks away :hehe:

09-17-2007, 04:01 AM
when the fuck did you get a truck?

09-17-2007, 12:27 PM
january. it's a 2wd v6, that's why i didn't mention it .

09-17-2007, 01:21 PM
ohhh... i wouldn't of either.. :hehe:

how does it ride compared to your celi?

09-18-2007, 02:53 AM
it's a pretty damn comfy ride. funny on the highway cos the front is independent suspension and the rear is solid axle. if i take a turn fast and hit a bump the front is fine, then the rear goes all wobbly and i realize how big the truck is.

i like the ride better than the celica, honestly. handles ok, accelerates ok, brakes ok. turning radius is complete shit so it's a bitch to park. i know it's totally different than the celica, but i like driving trucks.

what made you decide to get a 2wd v6, as opposed to a 4wd v8 anyways? i know your gonna HATE 2wd in the snow. i get my ass kicked in the snow in 2wd

09-18-2007, 07:06 PM
i dealt with snow already and it's fun with the locked rear end. good traction, but when it breaks loose it REALLY breaks loose. I haven't had any issue driving in snow so far, we'll see what happens this winter.

i got the 2wd v6 because i don't need 4wd for anything and the truck was a good price. i kinda wish i had the v8 because power on the 6 sucks and i bet i'd get the same mileage with the v8. It narrowed down to what was available and in my price range, and this truck was a good deal. extended cab and 22k miles and in excellent condition.

well you down have to leave it in 4wd dude..

i know i cant get mine to break loose when its in 4wd

09-19-2007, 02:28 AM
hahaha...with my older tires my ranger was a bitch even in rains about breaking out the rear end, made for some nice drifts though

09-19-2007, 03:59 AM
speaking of rain.. we got a bit today.. i had to kick it in 4wd to keep from sliding all over the place

09-19-2007, 12:49 PM
4wd was extra money and extra parts. i don't use 4wd enough to justify buying a truck with it.

09-19-2007, 01:28 PM

hell i know id be fucked here without it.. i cant count how many times ive gotten stuck in 2wd and had hit the big 4wb button.

hell once i got so stuck that 4hi did not even work. lucky for me 4lo did :phew:

09-19-2007, 07:46 PM
how the eff did you get so stuck??

i'll definitely be worse off then 4wd for shitty weather, but i'll try to survive. my friend's 04 wrangler rubicon is fun in 4 low. you can start off confortably in 5th, it's pretty much like being in 2nd gear in 2/4 hi. 4:1 transfer case rocks for a stock vehicle.

09-19-2007, 11:40 PM
i was trying to turn around on a pretty tight trail.. front and back tires were both in the dips in the trail.. 2wd spun. 4hi just rocked me a little bit, but 4lo pulled me right out

09-20-2007, 12:41 AM
nice. the rear is locked in that, no? how about the front?

09-20-2007, 12:46 AM
old truck did not have a rear locker.. but front had auto lockers.

new truck rear end is locked and front has auto lockers
