as most of you know I need a new front bumper. I want the car to be sleek looking, not wanting to overdo it, but look different from other ones. I've considered an alltrac bumper but seems like a LOT of you on here already have that. I want to repaint the car black at some point, so what kind of front bumper would you guys suggest? I was lookin around body kits, only a couple interested me but even then they still didnt look quite right. I thought about making a custom one, but that would be a lot of work, so what do you guys think?

alltrac bumper = GT-S bumper.
You are not thinking of an RC bumper as an alltrac bumper, are you?

yeh I'm thinkin of the RC bumper haha. The more I see it on a black car the more I like it, I dont really like the GTS bumper though.

as i said in three previous posts :) i have a bumper from an ST that has no cracks or anything and the license plate bracket on it, as well. its red but if you're painting the car who cares. i'll even throw in some clear bumper lights.

I looked but all I saw was the GT-S bumpers. My second choise in bumpers would be what it had originally, the GT or ST bumper but I want to go with something a bit more sporty, which I think the only thing available thats sporty but not overdone is the RC bumper

I personally like the 92-93 bumper. The one with the larger Fog Lights.

www.Certifit.com

There aftermarket but 99% fitment. I've used them about 10 times now and havent had a problem. I don't know where you are in ohio but there's a warehouse in northeast ohio.

$46.75 for the 90-91
$65.75 for the 92-93

do they have any RC's or any custom bumpers that arent overdone? Tbe 92-93 isnt bad, kinda resembles the RC but...I'd still like somethin that stands out a little more

that first car is...interesting lol I kinda doubt I'll be in to getting a lip kit though, I want the car smooth and rounded looking. I am starting to get my heart set on an RC bumper but gotta find the cash for it and...where to actually get one...

i love certifit, they are awesome on factory parts, i would not buy a rc bumper unless i have alltrac, it would stand out very much on a stock gt with nothing else, i think the rc bumper is a bit much for your car for now, and pricey, the best bet is to go with the 92-93 bumper. but thats my opnion, it up to yo

No, you are not the only one. 91 bumper rocks faces off.

they are both nice, I like them better than the GT-S, both of them, but I still think I want to go with something thats gonna stand out more and look more sporty, do you guys know of anything other than the RC bumper?

Mr Celica

I thought the GT-S and alltrac was different from the GT's? Wow I'm confused, the one style I am mostly trying to avoid is one like extremeskillz....no offense, just not my style. You know the 92-93 bumper looks like it could very easily be made in to an RC bumper, which how much do RC bumpers usually go for?

extremeskillz
08-20-2007, 12:29 AM
^None taken. Its not your style. The RC bumper then is def for you. Good luck.

yeah serious! I'd be willing to pay $200 for it considering most body kit bumpers go for about $300

Any Toyota dealership can get the RC bumper. It depends on the dealership. I was quoted $250.

I'll have to see what my dealership offers, are there any other bumper suggestions though?

vip09
08-20-2007, 06:05 AM
I'm pretty sure any dealership can order it.

This is the part# for the fascia: 52119-20929

That does not include any reinforcements or grilles.

You can order it from Conicelli for $211.28. (www.partznet.com)

I can't get to 1sttoyotaparts.com right now.. it seems to be down.

You can also check with Toyota Todd or T-spoon to see if they can get you one.

I got that price because my friend works in the parts department.

thanks guys, I think I'd be willing to pay a couple hundred for the RS bumper, I think it'll stand out most, plus looks best for an intercooler set up which I do plan to run at some point. Unless someone can find another bumper I'd like more, which I've looked through all the body kits, I think thats probably what I'm gonna go for. I just wunna keep the cars curves well rounded and smooth, so it looks sporty but sleek

Joeye27
08-20-2007, 09:23 PM
when i was 17 -18 i did ...but now nope! i ruined my beautiful red vert! :slap: i should of stayed along the lines of the car...like the idea you said and know i want to.... and plus you grow out of the looks and having every wana be fast and furious or domestic car in the city want to race you...

celicaGT90_05
08-20-2007, 09:27 PM
lol well I never liked the vader kit so I never go near them. I like body kits, but I am not about having some crazy lookin car, when I go for body kits I try to find somethin that flows with the car but changes the appearance so that it does stand out. I did want a body kit for my celica, but the more and more I looked at them the more they just didnt look right, thats why I'm thinkin of just goin with an RC bumper which really shouldnt be more than any other body kit front bumper. Plus I think it'll look real sharp when the car is all done

I dunno. A CS bumper on an otherwise stock bodied car looks pretty damn sexy.

I'm still having the same quandry about whether to get a CS bumper or another 90-91 bumper (3' of snow + driving pizza + lowered car = f'ed up front fascia). Personally, I'm leaning toward another 90-91 because I like the foglights that go there, but a CS bumper would be mighty nice too.

Good luck choosing, and post pictures when it's done :D

Hiko I deffinately like the way that looks, and it bein black will be better all the more. I'm gettin anxious to get this car done, but I know its gonna be a little while. I also need to figure out what hood and spoiler I want to use, and I'm thinkin of finding some folding mirrors as well, any thoughts?

I'm sure it could be modified to fit if it didn't stock. I don't think the cutouts on the sides are where they go stock, though. Check out this (http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s12/PhillyDRFT/1991CelicaGTFOUR_RC_01_01.jpg?t=1176142979) picture. I did a quick search here because I was sure someone mentioned those cutouts to be too small, but I either couldn't find it or it was my imagination. Hopefully someone can give you a definitive answer.

Hiko, i would go cs, but thats a close call.

You're not kidding about it being close. That's part of why I've waffled on making the decision all summer :hehe:

I'm not very partial to the JDM folding mirrors, but I seem to be in the minority on that one. You should check out Maxaud's thread (http://celicatech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20050) to help you decide.

I'm getting pretty shameless using other peoples photo's here

Argh, the pics wont show up on that site! At least I cant get them to....What exactly is the $200 one and the $500 one?

I think I know what I wunna do with my car. The thing about the stock mirrors I have is that they stick out quite a bit on a rather small car, and I kinda like the folding mirrors though I know they are a hard find. Thanks for all the help though guys, now one more thing, should I go with a stock style spoiler or does anyone have any suggestions?
