Hi, first of all. Found my way here while looking for info on the Toyota celica model which i'm thinking about buying. What i wonder though is, what should i look out for on a used celica, model year from 1986-1992, which are the models i'm most intressed in. All info is welcomed since i know nothing about the celica models, just drove one several years ago when an old friend had one. The only cars i've owned is Volvo 240 models...maybe not he most fun car in the universe but pretty cheap to own.

Any info is welcomed, and if but this thread wrong, move it to the right place.

Cheers! from sweden

Welcome and lets see:

Look out for:
1. Body condition
2. Maintenance records
3. rusty quarter panels
4. Fuel Leaks
5. anything that may be broken the interior
6. Electrical
7. Overall condition.
8. A/C (make sure it works, if not see if its repairable)
9. Inspection stickers
10. Any broken suspension parts.

And the list goes on. WIth that said there are pletty of them out there that are still in very good conditon. You might not find one under 85K on the odometer (like mine was) but still there pletty out there. Just look out for these things and you will be ok.

Thanks, i'll keep that in mind when i'm looking for one. Btw, real nice forum you guys got :bigthumbu Gonna hang around alot more to learn more about celica.

And as you said, you can get att pretty good celica for a rather low price, it's not really an unusal car even here in sweden.

Sorry for any bad spelling, my english isn't really perfect.

Yeah, welcome. Come hang out here anyway, even if you don't get a celi...there are quite a few members that don't even own celicas.

In Sweden, I'm not sure, but are there are plenty of GTfours around? (the ones with 4wd and turbo engine).

yeah, there are som GT4 arounds, but i'm looking for regular GTi or similiar, the 150hk engine, i love N/A tuned engines and choose those before a turbo enginge, besides in sweden there alot cheaper too own than those with turbo.
