I keep thinking its a 350 or something along those lines. Only problem is, the dimentions dont seem to work with a 350. The shifter would be in the back seat.

WHo knows whats in it?

And for gods sake find engine bay pictures!

It HAS been done with the turbos into the AE86. It's a blue one. I saw it at SEMA 06' In philly. Really clean swap too.

It belongs to Justen, a guy in Oz. It is a Lexus V8. It started out as a Grp-A ST185 that was swapped to a RWD set-up. It is a lot of custom parts. It puts down somewhere between 600 and 800 horses. There are several threads on it around here. As well as some videos.

^^ Agreed. We need links to the process and in-depth info and hi-res pics. No. I'm not joking. We really do.

I know this is kinda irrelavent itb's toyota v8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ba8sT2BQ4uc&mode=related&search=) but I ran across it while watching the rwd v8 celica video :luvydunno I dig it

08-07-2007, 07:03 AM
wow that car is so nice..id be happy to have it stock with the 3S but that v8 is over the top...that thing must screw

There is an in depth write-up of the process. It is not local, it was on an Aussie board, but I have read it.

The guy did a lot of work to it. Play owned his old ECU. There were a few who were upset that he did such an 'experimental' thing with such a rare car, as it is an actual Group-A ST185 (the Oz equivalent of an RC/CS,) but for the sheer wow factor, it is awesome.

I love that car. THats the way the celica should of came. RWD is the only way. He must have a full write up on that swap.

Ive seen this car a million times, but all i see are burn outs... Unless this thing can put down some decent quarter mile times it belongs in the dumpster.

I don't agree with doing this to such a rare car either... They couldnt use an alltrac SHELL something that has been stripped?

its a 1uzfe

But just for the record.

I finally made it to WSID for a run and after a bit of playing around laid down a 11.7@122mph. There was a quicker time there for the taking next up based on the 60' time i ran but i stuffed the change to 2nd, so for now it'll have to stand at 11.7.

That was on crappy Nankang street tyres so with some DOT rated drag rubber on the rear i should give a 10 sec run a bit of a scare....probably give the rears CV's a bit of a scare as well

Thank You !

Awesome car. I also have another vid with it. It's at some Celica meet and there's a camera perched at the side of the road and you see a bunch of GT4's drive by with the typical GT4 sounds and then out of nowhere he zooms by twin turbos howling like a banshee paired with the V8 goodness. I'll see if I can dig that out of my hard drive.

Edit: And here it is

06-05-2008, 03:25 AM
useless piece of info, it was making 430hp @ 6.5psi. It runs twin turbs. i'm currently doing a very similar idea except with a 13bt, most toyota fans will cringe. i did too, but i cant be bothered fitting a v8 in there, plus this hasnt been done before in the street scene!
