I just started a Bebo page for Turbo Toyota Owners based here -

Some kid posted the following question on the site. I reckon it is not worth the effort but when you see his story you will understand his motivation. What do you guys think? Would he be able to pull off an engine swap?

"hey guys, My best friend passed away two months ago yesterday, 3 days after he died his dad came to me and offered me his project, i accepted, it is a 1.3l toyota corolla hatchback 1993. it was crashed but i'm slowly nursin it back to full health that includes a candy apple red finish thats sure to be mouth watering, finish the job with a set of 17" tenzo rs5 shoes and thats a shit hot motor. but wat i really want to do as a fitting tribute to my mate is to turbocharge this motherfucker, how much shud it cost and wat shud i do."

I have DEFINATLEY seen 3SGTE's swapped into Corolla engine bays.

Its a 98 however with a 95 MR2 3SGTE. But yes, I believe th engine bay size is the same between the two generations, it should be possible.
I'm guessing custom mounts will be needed however. May be best finding a whole front end clip from a 90-93 Celica GT-Four.

As sad as the story is, if he is asking that question he isn't ready. He needs more research and experience before diving into what he wants to do.

so maybe we should help figure this all out. Provided he is willing to listen and learn. Who better to learn it from? I doubt there is anyone better to teach him. I'd offer my assistance but Id be in the same boat as he is regarding the turbo, never dealt with turbos before may be able to offer some ideas regarding fabrication though.
