I saw about that like 6 months ago. Still nuts though.

thats a awesome car, the car looks like a toy car. thats pretty good 1005hp from a 6.0 twin turbo, i guess the big factor in the car to help it be that quick 0-60 its the body is FULL CARBON FIBER, thats crazy.

This car was "launched" a while ago, and all the claims are unproven... to top it off, it's not a production car, it's a single hand built car made by a couple of guys in england, they brought it to an autoshow as a private entry.

1.6 0-60 is a really ballsy claim; consider that an F1 car with only 100 HP less and probably half the weight takes 2.3 seconds to do it, and that the worlds fastest drag racers can do it in .8 with 4 feet of contact patch on tires that only last 2 runs.

I'm very skeptical of it. Plus, look at the styling; it looks like someone took an S7 and a zonda and stuck them together; there isn't a single curve on that thing that's original.

I haven't seen anything about this yet. I would love to do zero to 60 in 2.67 seconds, thats just crazy! Does anybody know what the drivetrain is?

the koensegg was a handbuilt car, but its considered a production car cuz they were built and sold. same goes for this car.

But these haven't been built and sold, that's what I was pointing out. These aren't in production.

I stick to the Koenigsegg... I like that one.

And remember even old Jags were hand built...

It won't replace they Veyron. If you have seen the inside of a Veyron, you can see that it is well furnished, whereas from what I can see of the Barabus, it looks like it has a bare bones interior. The Veyron therefore, is still an actual car, whereas the Barabus looks like a toy.

In all fairness F1 cars aren't made to launch hard.
Thier engines don't have much in the way of torque either.
They're 3?L V8s/10s.
A twin turbo pushrod V8 is going to have a MASSIVE torque curve.

But it does look sketchy, and I have a hard time seeing a pushrod V8 in a full carbon fiber body.....

Yeah, I was thinking about all those points actually. That said, I still highly doubt 1.6 0-60, and in fact one of the articles out there about it says "All figures provided are mathematical theory, the car has never been tested and they don't even know the top speed"

um... I think I remember the F1 (I think he means McClaren F1) has a 6.?L V12... or V10 or whatever... but not a small engine by any means.

Yep, 6.0L, 60 degree V12. I'd rather have the F1 too.

Biggest problem with any of these cars actually making a 0-60 time in the real world is traction control. Any legal DOT tire on a typical road surface is going to have issues maintaining grip to put the power down. My puny little 405hp V8 with street tires has major issues. On track with some Hoosiers much better :bigthumbu

Theoretical performance doesn't count in the real world...
