You'd have to take the front bumper off to change the corner lights. Its the only way I figured it out when I had the vader bumper on my last car.

Nice progress though. Not sure if I like the CELICA cut out.

it was kind of alright before, as in I've seen worse, kind of an odd green though. I dont really like when people paint the corner lamps though, it doesnt ever look right. I like those alpine signs, are they gonna act as brake lights?

great progress so far.

I'm not one for the cutouts ect but +1 for what looks like decent work.

I'm just astonished by the fact that whoever riced the car in the first place had the taste to actually jamb the hood doors and hatch. Usually ricers cheep out on the details.

I'm not one for the cutouts ect

It's not somethin I would do really, but its kinda cool to see. It looks like he did a good job on the wheel paint.

That car wasn't as bad as some things we have around here. There was a Miata with a body kit painted this lime green color with sponsor decals all race lookin, big spoiler, and wheels you can deffinately tell were spray painted yellow by the way the shades changed from where it was thicker than other spots and the lip was painted white.....it looked like a racer, but it was ugly

Haha I know it's off topic but there are a few guys around here who race miatas and they decided to buy / make cutouts for the mouth of the front bumper. One made big chomping teeth and the other is just a big grin and they look like there from the movie "Cars" I bet there cool guys. I'd wanna meet em.

Nah not brake lights..althou ill suggest that thatd be coool....just gunna put some blue neon behind it same as the celica cut out in the front....as per the wheel painting comment somone made...They're not painted its just the light doing wierd things with the color..their still the same color as the first picture :bigthumbu

The cutouts look pretty cool on the rear, I don't know about the front though, it looks there's a lot of material blocking airflow to the radiator.

Unless they're taped and i cannot tell, did he paint his carbon fiber blue too?

Thats what I was thinkin, plus the celica design is off center

Ya, you are going to want to remove the front piece for air flow over your radiator. Sorry.

yeah looks like he did paint it blue too..seein how it was painted green by the original owner....and yeaa i told him about the blocking of the rad..but hes kinda dumb n says he wants to drive it first and see how bad it will be....( hes not the brightest kid around, but he does decent body work)

He went n got his door panals reupolstered as well....the blue will be the final color of the car

did you tell him he will probably need to remove that thing covering the radiator? I really doubt the car will get proper cooling like that...unless he put 2 smaller radiators on the side vents, but that would take a lot of hose and work

Joeye27
06-23-2007, 06:42 AM
I beleive the condeser for the A/C is in the front and the radiator is right behind it.....

like the idea but yeah, to avoid any over heating issues it shoud be a bigger vent.

over all keep it going want to see it finished... nice color

"that thing" is not covering the radiator the ac condenser is already doing that .. thats all just wanted to clear things up

but yeah dont want to over heat down the road

well the condensor wouldnt be covering it IF the car has AC, just in front of it but doesnt really block air flow since it has fins itself that air goes through, while what he did is blocking air flow to all of it which, to make matters worse, his AC wouldnt be working too strong as well. All its gonna be working on is the tiny bit of air that manages to slip in through that Celica cut out and whatever air rolls under the car.

Joeye27
06-23-2007, 08:15 AM
Agreed, needs to have some type of air flow/release because of overheating and all... hope the advise helps, but hey its his car, who knows it may be only a show car.

not bad from what it was looking like, at least he had some common sense to paint it a different color and paint the wheels which look good with the color, love the custom box in the back it looks really nice and with the cutouts, now the front bumper looks like shit, i hate that bumper on top of that he trys to cover it and looks even worse, looks like he has the funds to fix the car up and he is getting there, also is that wing molded to the trunk? its nice but way to big.

06-23-2007, 10:03 PM
Honestly ? The cut outs look ghey..... BOTH. And yeah, that guy will have serious engine temp problems... and whats with the "faux" roof scoop? create more aerodynamic drag? Complete waste of money if you ask me.

As for the corner lights, the only way to remove them is from outside the car cause you wont be able to even grasp the the bulb socket with your fingers from the inside due to the fender support being right behind the socket

hahaha yea.. thats what i was thinking.. but i mean different strokes for different folks.

in my opinion i hate body kits on celicas, they don't even flow with the car. and a spoiler that is as high as the roof isn't doing SHIT but being heavy. as for the color, its ok, i'm not a fan of bright blues. those rims are kinda cheezy... the sub enclosure is interesting, looks like a good time invested project. the cutouts on the bumper is something i haven't seen before, so thats interesting. the roof scoop... eh... i find those pointless and awful hideous.

all in all its ok. i've seen worse, and it looks like this dude has put a lot of effort into the project. if you look at it like art, not everyone is gonna like what you do, but if you like it then hell, go for it.

honestly I hate all vader kits, no offense to anyone, but I've never found them to flow with a car. I'm lookin for body kits for my celica but its hard to find a good one that flows properly, I think I picked out the one I want though finall, just the front bumper is a tad off, nothing a little molding cant fix, other than that it looks good...my secret as to which one yet, gotta wait to see when the car is finished

It's still hideous, it's actually worse now cause of the cutouts.

I think he did a great job of fixin it except

the front bumper
and the roof scoop

seeing what it came from it looks alot better now. The cut outs on the rear look great and from the pictures it looks like he does really good body work. I give him props for doin it himself and not taking it to some professional place to get it done.

Well yeah I think the front bumper is a little much, would have been better if he made something that would clip on to some mesh insert. As for the roof scoop, it was there when he got it and molded in, I dont he cares enough to stress about removing it.

I'm not a fan...of how it was before, or how it is now. Looks like a lot of wasted money in my eyes. But I'll give the owner credit. He did do a lot of work and I recognize that. I just wouldn't own it, or ever ride in it for that matter.

Doesn't look terrible but are those ALPINE cut-outs gone? I think that was the thing I hated the most.

I, too, am not a fan of the Vader kits. I like simple lip kits or modest front/rear bumpers. The giant wing has to go on that car too.
