It's a jdm spec 1991 Celica GT-R Type G. It's a pretty cool car with every option available to my knowledge including full electronic adjustable suspension and 4 wheel steering which can be turned on or off. It has only 86,000kms or about 1/2 that many miles.
Powered by a stock 3sge engine good for 165hp.

There aren't any GT4 convertables around here. I like the model i've got.
I don't need another race car, i have a 240hp CRX :bigthumbu

Oh wow, so you got one coming? Thats cool.

I ended up finishing the paperwork with my car yesterday. Production date was 12/91 so registries calls it a 91 model even though its a 1992 car. That's why it has the newer style steering wheel in it.

It being dropped off at the bodyshop today to finish off a couple small details. I hope to pick it up and start driving a week from today. Then i will take more detailed pics of some of the features on the car like the $WS system, and the TEMS suspension setup.

Since i picked up the car today, i took a couple pic from my own camera. Here's one, i wish it would stop raining here, it seems to do it every day!

I took this shot just for you! It shows how the system can be switched between regular 2 wheel or 4 wheel steering

Very cool! I'd love to see a 4WS model in person. There are a few of us Celica-types in Calgary, several with jap imports too. We should meet up sometime.

I want to see pics of the 4ws in action. I would love to import a 93 celica GT-4 to match up with my GT-S. Yes i want to cars and Yes ill keept them both. :hehe: but for now its the GT_S.

Well, it took a little while at the body shop for some touchup work, but now she's rolling and ready for action. Here it is at home

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y282/deetzcrx/July07067Large.jpg

The 3sge engine works very well and has a great powerband. The 4ws system woks very well for normal driving, but i don't like it for paralel parking, good thing i can turn the feature off. A couple other things i found interesting was that this jdm version doesn't have power seat adjustments, but every other power option they were available with. Also, this model doesn't come with a dimmer switch for the dash.
The steering wheel is very different from the usdm styled ones, i have yet to see another like it.

I never knew the JDM celicas got a PRNDL on the gauge bezel.

i've always wondered how does 4WS work? Like is it similiar to sports cars like the Nissan 300zx and Mitsubishi 3000GT where the rear wheel only turn a few degrees or do they have the same range as the front wheels? Maybe a stupid question but still a question.

celicatrd93

that interior is pretty sweet. did not know they had the horns on the airbags too.

I wondered that myself till i got the car. The rear wheels do move i'd say 3-4 inches when cranked one way to the other, but certainly not as far the front of coarse.
It's great around fast corners without a bought, but like i mentioned earler, for me, it sucks parallel parking, unless i hit the reverse steering defeat button, then it a hell of a lot easier.
