For a very short period of time, probably.... But i doubt it'll hold up to the abuse for very long.

5sfe trannys bolt right onto 3sgte engines..... but like ^^^ he said, it wont last long.

nope will not work... the auto trans will not work with it... I think the torque converter does not work with the flywheel...

Yep, flywheel + TC = no go. However, you might be able to use the flexplate from the 5S.

Someone on here ran an Auto with their 3SGTE for a while.

Search the 5th Gen forum.

It didn't last too awful long though. Less than a year IIRC.

what about the v6 camry trans? like the 5 spd people use in the fwd swap? i should hold the power of a stock 3sgte.

Ya that works fine. Thats what most of the swapees are using. They are able to hold the power pretty fine.

for the 3sgte tranny and the 5s engine you need to use the st165 flywheel or flexplate. you can use a 3s clutch disk and a 5s pressure plate. it bolts right up no problems. the auto setup works as well but it will grenade rather easily

im using the s53 tranny so far with no problems, Im comming up on one year, with over 200k on the tranny.

Is there any benefit in later S series transmissions over earlier, other than different ratios?

Meaning... are the axles and synchros on say the S54 stronger or bigger than the S51?
