American Honda Motor Co. said Monday it will introduce the Ridgeline, its first pickup truck, during the Super Bowl on Feb. 6 by airing high-profile commercials.

The Japanese automaker has bought two 30-second spots on Fox to cash in on the National Football League championship game, a Honda Motor official said without elaboration.

Automotive News, which first reported Honda's Super Bowl campaign, reported that the average price for a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl is $2.4 million.

The automaker made a similar sales pitch for a sport-utility vehicle during the Super Bowl in the 1990s, the official said.

the "engineering highlights" pc posted make it seem pretty promising. but i really hope they make some serious styling changes before the production model comes out. lookin at the concept, there some aspects of it i like, and others i hate. most notably the front end... the nose, grill, headlights, sideview mirrors.... :ghey:
