just wanted to see how much boost everyone is running on their swap and what mods they have.

all this time, ive had my car at about 10psi. now i turned it up to 14 and its a whole new car again, nice and fast. do you guys think i can just keep this boost setting for daily driving? i know mr2 guys claim that 15psi is fine on a ct26 and even toyota set their fuel cut to 16psi in 93 models of the mr2. so, i should be ok, right?

Just watch how your car reacts to the changes in boost. If you get stuttering, missing, or it feels like you get "pulled back" for any reason, stop because something is wrong that could potentially blow the engine. The pulled back feeling is the ECU retarding the timing. I keep a host of gauges to keep an eye on things for me, and am also very careful to keep an eye on things while driving.

I currently run 12psi, sometimes 14 on my current mods. I blew my old ST165 engine at 14psi, fwiw.

exhaust is 3"dump,2.5"piping and sw20 FMIC. using dual stage MBC. 7psi low and 10psi high boost for the moment.

Hey chris (sorry to go off topic)but my car has started surging and pulling back really bad atm. more evident at 10psi. i've stopped driving it hard for the time being till i sort it out. what do you think it is? timing etc. would can i check? i was going to get the timing checked, new cap, rotor and a dyno tune.

I'm running about 13 psi in the FWD Celica and 12-14 in the All-Trac. The All-Trac really needs a better MBC though as it won't stay set at one level.

What kind of plus are you using? Most likely it's either crappy plugs, out of range plugs, or the timing is being retarded by the ECU. Get a hold of some NGK BKR7E's, gap to 0.028". They are great, although only last ~5000miles. If your timing is being retarded, turn down the boost...there's something thats making it correct for the knock sensor most likely...then figure things out. Run higher octane fuel, get a way to have cooler intake temps, etc.

I used to run 15-16 daily driving, but college got expensive, so i had to save a little on gas, now im at 8psi for daily driving.

7psi low and 11-12psi high...all ways on 98 octane and i drive like about 500mile a week nearly 1000km....

Yeah aust162..i get that thing some times too..lasts like a day and sometime si can get it out of her...the thing i learned to prevent this si make sure tha car is warmed up a good bit before u drive her even lightly...cause i remember withthe shity t-vsv on she have like only 5psi till the engine was warm...

I ran 15psi on my ct26 for years with no problems :)

Im currently running 10.8 psi or something on my gt3040

once i get the fmic i will tune it to 20psi for street gas and around 25 on race gas... atleast that is the plan... actual tunning will dictate where i stop increasing the boost

14.7 psi!

Well, sorta. That's atmospheric pressure at sea level (in other words, I'm not boosting) :P

i got a boostcontroller to run 8-10 psi for dailey driving and 25 psi for racing, i wont switch to high boost until 3rd gear or higher. thats why everyone that has raced me said i have a killer 3rd gear.
