Hey peoples just look for a simple answer will the 2jz and its auto gear box fit stright into an 80 coupe with no mods needed? :ohyeah: :Ban1:

everything needs mods these days. but yeah you can make it fit with lots of money and time.

Custom mounts and driveshaft it might. Have you measured one to make sure it would fit in the transmission tunnel? Have you looked into the 1UZ? When you find an engine you like try and find one to take measurements of and compare to the car. If it physically fits then work out how easy it would be to create new mounts for it.

YES! just twist rad cap off... take out the motor buy a 97 supra auto TT and park it next to your car.

Even sticking a 2jz into a late 80's soarer is a mission and a half and some but not all of its mounts are even the same.

Moving a modern engine into an older car will always take lots of modding and usually lots of custom work. Your easiest swap options are an 18RG or a 22RE. If you want more that 4 cylinders, you should start looking at V-engines because they are more likely to fit than an I6.
