I keep debating what to do with my hood. Here is the deal a couple summers ago some fuckers gauged a giant "M" in my friggin hood. I need to get it painted but don't know what I should do. I would like to get a CS hood because I think they are sexy, Alltrac hoods are more redily availible/less expensive and they are also sexy, I could just paint it and leave it like it is, or I could paint the hood and headlights black...Sprinter Trueno style...let me knows what youse guyses' thinks.

you could always get a hood bra thing. you know, like the giant fabric book covers...

but i don't think it'd look too great... :squint:

Ick. Thats why it wasn't mentioned. Plus the giant gouge is in the center.

No...I got it...my 11:45 attempt at getting jokes means that I have to read them a few times before I understand...and I post things before I understand them a little too much at night.

An AT hood would be more easily attainable for less $$$. Personally though, I'd stick with the same color. But, if you have the $$$ fallin' out yer arse, then CS all the way!

the idea of painting it like a trueno (they came panda never a black hood and lights unless you bought it in black) is worse that the hood cover imho. They sold t-shirts for your hood at SEMA last year I thought it was the dumbest idea ive ever seen. A few months later everyone has one on cardomain. Paint it back to stock. The CS hood is awesome but it will look silly with your USDM facia. And there about 800$ from the dealer. The At hood would be the better option, especially if you're still using the topmount on your 3sgte

I have a feeling Trueno style would look kinda homo on anything but a Trueno. This is for the car in my siggie, 5sfe so the hood really has no function for intercooler action.

Oh and btw if I went CS or Alltrac it would be the same color...i was really tired when I made the poll and didn't make it too clear.

Ahh, I was reading your rides so I assumed you were talking about the swapped. I would just put the CS/AT hood on the swap and leave your GT stock.

If you plan to do the CS hood remember to source the hood ornaments before you buy the hood. They are getting VERY hard to find. If you do not have those it will look bad.

The blue one is N/A, aka the one I need the hood fixed...but hood scoops are sexy.

I think you should go AllTrac. I would tell you to go CS but I couldn't tell anybody to spend $800 on a hood.

That CS bumper and stock hood is gorgeous!

unless you have a turbo get the smooth stock one... it looks a lot better, flows with the car. cheaper, too. people are gonna see ur big ass scoop and wonder where your turbo went... get the oem gts hood and the CS bumper it will look Badass.

^^wat's the difference between the GTS and GT hood?

btw, if i wanna put a CS hood on my NA car, do i need to modify it to redirect water away from the motor?

:slap: You're no subaru!

j/k. But honestly if you can find a used AT hood for ballpark 300$ thats not bad at all and I would jump on it. Since your only real problem is a scratch/gouge in the middle of your hood you're getting it painted anyway. Just my opinion but if you have 8-900$ to put out on a hood, paint and shipping, AND you own a swapped celica. Theres a few places you could spend it that will make you much happier in the long run than a hood. I just think there Ridiculously overpriced.

I'd better just keep it stock. Id rather spend money on other things I guess.

There's not, but I don't think he meant that.

On the other hand, I don't see why you have to have a turbo or such to own a certain hood. Some stock alltracs have cs hoods, does that mean they have to have a wtai? C'mon, we put a hood on a car for function AND form.

See if you can get some one here to ps each hood style onto the car for you and see which you like best. I'm all for spending less money though ;). What hood do you have on your swap?

The prices for the AT or CS hood are incredibly high, and in my opinion not worth spending so much money on.

Instead of spending $800 on that CF CS hood I want so badly, I'm gonna control myself and buy some rims in a year or so. :D
