Hi just as the title says, ive got to replace a top on my 92 and the top i got has some very very faded directions and they look like they came out of a bgb so i am hoping someone has them they might be willing to sell me or scan for me.

any help would be appreciated.

90-93 is your model year (5th Gen)

I have a 91 and a 92 BGB, I know you have a faded page but can you see a page/section number?

Il take a look when I get home about a new top.

i know mine is the 5th gen, as well i have a 4th gen convertible and ive looked both of them over they are similar enough that either one will work for the other(bgb that is)

my directions say celica and paseo 87-on

and the page numbers just say 11-5 11-6 etc.

taken from celitech BGB section

BGB is the shorthand for Toyota's technical repair manuals, which are traditionally "Big Green Books". Some of the newer Toyota models have changed their cover to a black with green highlights, or white, grey and green, however, still carry the BGB name. The older books were entirely green.

BGB has nothing oh how to change the top of a convertible Celica, at least I couldnt find anything on my 91 book. It could be because ASC did the top conversion on the Celica and not toyota. Also "page 11-4" is from another book, not the BGB. BGB splits its pages like "BO-13" BO=body 13=page#

maybe one of the vert guys can help you.

The literature that you're looking for is supplemental to the Factory Service Manual. I have a copy of the Convertible Supplement. Somewhere. I haven't seen it in nearly a year, but I DO own it. This is the second request for this manual I've seen since I've been on this board, so I'll do some searching in the basement. I'm pretty sure that's where it is.

I'd second the desire for that info. I suspected it wasn't in the BGB because of Toyota outsourcing the conversion, but it's good to know that documentation exists.

I will pay you to scan it into your computer, if you cant scan it into your computer and dont know anyone that can, you can send it to my(i will pay postage, scan it into my computer than send you back the originall) i just really really need this as i am gonna start saturday and only have the crappy faded directions that came with the top, which are a photocopy of a photocopy(you get the point)

well i successfully replaced the top on my 92 with only the crapy instructions it came with, there are a couple things that come up on you, like never cut short the tops corner pieces(the ones that go down the side of the top by the pumps for the hydraulics(leave those full length, that way you know your not to short, aside from that it went really well. i will post pictures up tomorow. but dont let anyone tell you you cant do it your self, if your a semi decent mechanic and can use a staple gun and scissors it can be done in a day( i started at 11.30-8 pm) not to bad would have been quicker but i had to strip interior and hunt some parts down as well.
