Everyone here said the 93 celica st dosent have an oil pan gasket, but instead some kind of glue type substance. I'm getting the oilpan powder coated and replaced, i was wondering why kind of product they should use to seal it properly? Should they use RTV or what do you recommend?

Give me some suggestions:) Also im going to paint my valve cover and oil pan candy blue.

I always use RTV on oil pan gaskets...just make sure that both sides are VERY clean...

Not sure about a valvecover nut...fastenal would have one that would fit i'm sure, but it wouldn't match the other one(s) on the valve cover. Best bet is a junk yard.

Only way to know is to measure it...did you strip the inside of it out, or did you round the nut off?

Take another one off and go to the hardware store. You should be able to find another there.

I'm buyin the nuts off toyotaworld, along with the gromments/washer type thing. The guy PMed me the part number:) I highly recommend him, T-spoon kicks butt.

I will post up pics of my oil pan and valve cover afterwords, im getting it done in candy blue. Its not a widley used powdercoat, meaning i havent seen it on any car in person. It looks really nice, and it will be good to have something diffrent.

The guys at forcedfab www.forcedfab.com is doing the powdercoating, and resealing the oilpan. He bought some speciality stuff for it, its not RTV, he said its a special compound and cost like 17 bucks a tube? Anyways the owner is a really nice friend of mine so hes giving me a nice discount.

I will post up pics when its done:)

How long could you expect an oil pan to last after it's been powdercoated compared to one that isn't?

It will "last" the same amount of time. It just makes it pretty.

I get a cheap price on powdercoating:) I figured if im getting it taken off and the sealent replaced why not spend 40-60 bucks on powder coat?
