I love the part where she says honda drivers steal the bigger acura motors and then consult the instruction manual. :lolhittin

I saw a 4th Gen Celica and a MkII Supra.

Fucking idiots. Those kids were ignorant and probably won't stop even if they kill someone. The laws need to be harsher.

There was a lot of misinformation in there too. N2O being an 'illegal drug' used as an inhalant. Not far from the truth, but they are painting enthusiasts in a bad light too.

Oh noes. My bestest friend has a CRX with an Acura 1.8 and the "instruction manual" (Honda Engine Swaps) HE MUSTA STOLE IT!!! LOL. I guess dentists and doctors are allowed to give people illegal drugs then eh? Next time they give me the gas to knock me out, I'm calling the cops yo!

I had a nitrous filling station and it was impossible to get medical grade NO2. They denatured it with a sulfur compound for what I heard. But anyway, yeah, that shit was horrible to breathe.

His point is a valid one. Yes, street racing is bad, but alcohol+driving is FAR worse. Before putting any real energy to squashing street racing, they really need to be getting alcohol off the streets. There's really no two ways about that one. It's a matter of priorities, and ours are lopsided for a few reasons. One reason is that street racing is an easy scene and activity to target, another part of it is that it involves speeding, and speeding is the activity local governments love to hate. It's money money money. Those tickets they're writing for "illegal" parts etc. is just money in their pocket, and they know people won't stop because there will always be enthusiasts that want to upgrade their vehicles. Drunk driving is a WAY bigger problem, but there's not as much monetary benefit in them taking care of it, as well as the massive conflicts of interests because so many people want to be able to drink and drive both among the general populace and among law enforcement and law makers.

It is possible to buy 'whippets' at any gourmet food store. It is used as a propelant for whipped cream.

Common N20 that is found in automotive and air brushing applications is cut with Mustard gas basically to discourage inhaling.

I agree with T-Spoon and Snackeater though, drunk driving is a more dangerous 'pasttime.'

The racer and indirectly the enthusiast is an easier target. And leads to more money as opposed to jail time.

Plus it is easier to blame those damn loudmouth kids.

Shit, here there was a kid who was just 18, had 4 speeding tickets for excess of 100mph, and 2 DWI's in the space of 2 months. Guess what? They let him keep his car and his license till his court date which was over a month away. He was bragging about it to someone near where I was sitting when I was out for coffee. I turned around and told him he was an idiot and an asshole firstly for not caring enough for his own safety and secondly because of the other people he could potentially injure or kill. He started to make some sort of smart-ass remark... then I smiled and stood up :evfinger: :duh:

He has since invested in a bus pass, and won't drive a car again 'till he's 25.

So, in short, yes they're in it for the money. Tickets generate revenue for local government. Also there are no shortage of people who can obtain a license, but are completely lacking common sense.

Stupid people = job security.

In past years NO2 was exactly the same in both medical and automotive applications, but as Murg said, they now add sulfites to the gas so that it will make you nauseated and possibly ill in order to discourage inhalation.

Stolen engines? Am I missing something aside from someone stealing a car, and then taking the engine out to sell it?

Mostly because those tax dollars and hard work did not intend for those roads to be used as race tracks by a bunch of punk kids, they were paid and made for safe civillian transportation. BTW, the word is desolate :slap:

Well i think street racing isnt as bad as people play it to be i mean they do it late at night when hardly anyones out and they organize so shit dont happen.

not saying its ok to do it though. but some places need to open up some drag strips and then that will help but people want quit doing what they love to do.
Like said earlyer they do need to crack down more on drunk driving the day i got my lisense i got behind a drunk that was all over the road i stayed FAR back thinking they would hit something and they almost did. several times.

and they need to crack down on stuff like this http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9915bbf1-0c82-472e-8b76-08932911bea4.htm
