Can the PS pump from different celica gens and models, as well as from the camry, be swapped into the ST184? My PS pump needs to be replaced, and the shop i usually go to quoted me $100 labor to do it.. is tht a fair price?

They are somewhat interchangeable.
I don't know exactly how far though.
A 2nd gen 3SGTE one works.

I'm pretty sure a 4th gen 3SGE/FE pump will work, same goes for a 6th gen 5SFE, or a Camry 5SFE.
The pulley MIGHT be different on the Camry though.

They might have to do a little finagling to make the lines bolt up correctly however....

How many hours is the $100 for?
It sounds halfway fair. Depends on their hourly rate I guess.

DIY. Not that hard, just messy. I think mine is on the way out too. New belt, full fluid, and it's starting to groan more every day. Is there a rebuild kit for them?

Any clue about how long it takes to change on an st185 ? (with no lift, and just hand tools)

Haha

It's a PITA on a 3SGTE.
The transfer case gets in the way to an extent.

Dunno.
hour?
2 hours?
10 hours?
depends on what tools you have, and your ability....
