I created a website specifically for coupes, however, anyone that wants to join can do so. I've just noticed that there isn't much notice of coupes out there for people that don't own one. I wanted to bring owners together for this matter.

Please note, that I'm not trying to break away from CT at all, just simply creating a group. I love Celica Tech and everthing about it, but I wanted to create something unique. No bashing of CT either......maybe a Honda forum or two. There will be a lot of times that I we will have to refer to CT for other information.

Thanks for the support and join if you want!

You don't even have to be a coupe owner. I just wanted to cater to coupe owners.

Perhaps someone will make a liftback fan club.

It doesn't matter.

You could lobby for your own area here, like within 5th gen forum something.

That defeats the purpose of having a new community.

Perhaps a link to it, but I'm not going to ask for one.

Meh.

Not to be an ass, but I don't see a point in making a jillion Celica sites.
I'm on other ones too, but this is what I call home online.....

I dont understand why we would need a site for coupes specific. I mean most of all the stuff on a celica is inerchangeable between the two. Its like me starting a site just for STs.

I think it's a sick idea simply because there are not a lot of coupes out there. I dig it, and I'm there. Hey, I mean yall have an mr2 owners club, why not a coupe owners club?

Yeah Celicatech has been my home for quite some time now... before that it was a mixture of C.net and a local forum... Now it's Ctech and another local forum... crazy world huh?

C-TECH = HOME
MR2oc is for MR2s
C-TECH covers ALL celicas. Coupe, hatch, vert.
Why not just see if you can add a sub-forum on here? Seems to me that it would make more sense. If you're just workin' on your site building skills then more power to ya. Either way have fun.

I'd have to disagree with that. Around here I see more coupes than liftbacks.

probably there is, it seems to me like there is more hatchbacks, there are all celica in the end, but i have not seen a banging looking coupe in this site, i like ndmustang coupe the motor, if he spends some money on the outside it will be the best looking couple. other then that, we need some good looking coupes.

of course you want to go fast, so does everybody, but there are bad things to going fast, tickets, accideints and etc.... i took to many changes before, i said the same thing spent all my money into the motor, my old car was fast but so many tickets had to sell the car, could not pay all of them off, plus girls really don't care about motor they like good looking cars, forget getting cops atention, get the ladys looking, if i don't have a new car at least make my old car look like new.

I'd rather look presentable then go fast, at least in a daily driver. I could have prolly had a 20V ST 4AGE by the time I'm done with replacing body panels and such. But then everytime I got in and out of the car I'd look at it with disgust. So yeaaaa...

Once the car is back to tip-top tho, all bets are off. :hehe:

Um... seeing as I'm an autocrosser not a street racer this doesn't apply to me.

Oooh... :owned: Yeah, well everybodies got their own thing.

Only if you act stupid with it. Just because you own a fast car doesn't mean you need to drive down the street doing 105. Besides, you can get a speeding ticket in a Geo Metro, it's all driver.

celicatrd93
02-26-2007, 12:22 AM
true up to the driver about tickets, i meant you have a fast car you know you want to get a rush driving fast or cars line up to you, but in the end it is up to the driver.

celicatrd93

also since i am done with the body, interior, suspension, now i am going to the 20v 4age motor, since my motor is still good, i could drop it in a corolla or celica st with a blown motor. make some extra cash help with the swap. i decided to do the body first then the motor. no rush on anything, i am not planning on selling the car at all. defiantly going for a motor.

This was a bad idea. We have a fifth gen forum here. Technically, we can view this as you doing recruitment off our site, and that is a big no-no.

That defeats the purpose of having a new community.

Can you really call it a community? I mean, you're further dividing celicas out into a coupe category. We are already pretty seperated in the first place (All-trac page, our page, 7th gen forums, etc).

Is a new forum for coupes really necessary? Do you defeat your own purpose?

Don't get discouraged...but what everyone is saying is true. I've tried to start up forums myself on various topics but it's hard when you all to have to advertise on is other related forums, and it's going to be hard to build up a community when new users can just stop here and find everything they need.

It's sucks but it's true...for a forum to be successful it usually has to be one of a kind and support a unique topic rather than a branch-off that's covered on multiple original forums.

The only problem I have with it is any discussion you guys have on there that yields information is going to be lost on here, and then people wont be able to search it, and read it who arent a member.

I cant honestly see a point. Stuff like this is what seperates us more.

This is no different than the ST/GT/GTS guys forming stuff of their own...

glad you're looking out for us guys with coupes but...
celicatech is home... no point in leaving this commmunity
