i heard we werent allowed to import them coz they were locally delivered :-/ ???

01-30-2005, 06:35 AM
Beej: Only since they changed the import rules man. The car could have been brought in before that.

01-30-2005, 08:16 AM
well its aussie delivered
which makes it a group A
which makes me very happy

now im learning the differences in driving a turbocharged car - any tips / precautions?

01-30-2005, 08:06 PM
the usual dont try and crash it rule applies still ;)

01-30-2005, 10:50 PM
Wha? So thats what you gotta do hey?!

01-31-2005, 01:39 AM

I almost bought one for $18,900 last year, but i couldnt drive it on my P's so that idea was scrapped.

What did it set you back, and how many K's if u dont mind me asking :)

01-31-2005, 07:56 AM
you can import them, only as a private import.

Well done on the purchase. I remotely jealous, but at the same time, i know your gonna enjoy fixing the very rare beast.

01-31-2005, 12:28 PM
eliott: $20k and 226,000 klms
i had it inspected by NRMA and gosford toyota (where it had been serviced) and they both thought it was outstanding - a few things like a broken rad mount and the turbo outlet pipe have already been fixed and so now its great :)

lance: yeah. ive only located one spark lead so far... i know the rest are there somewhere... and i still havent found the oil filter... but then again i havent had a chance to have a good old poke around yet
how easy is it to remove the IC?

01-31-2005, 01:09 PM
remove the IC?????? hahahahaha have fun

01-31-2005, 01:47 PM
ummm man that is very sick and i love the colour...OMG (think habib voice) thats so sexy man!

I love the plates too!

also about boost car...s umm it easy in a AWD car...but a tip.."BOOST is your friend"

also if anything happen's and it better not cause i'll kick ya arse but i shot gun the 4 pistons and rotors. yes i'm mean but i want some so bad! cause i only want st205 breaks cause under my mod plate and shit it says i got gt-4 breaks...so i can fitt them with a plate and all that shit and technicly not get them re-engineered!...i'm so cheap!

Nezza :wiggle:

01-31-2005, 08:32 PM
Remove the IC.... not an easy job, but doable. All the spark plugs are underneat it, along with the distributor etc.

Oil filter is on the sump.

And, did you just say Easy  you thought the ST205 was easier to work on... welcome to maintenence hell :)

01-31-2005, 11:55 PM
congrats man, totally outta this world. hope i take the same steps as ou :P

02-01-2005, 06:53 AM
thanks for the compliments :)

nezza i will try not to break it, and oh yes the brakes are lovely arent they

lance - it cant be much worse than the SW20 to work on ... can it? i dont really mind, im waaaaaaaaay too inexperienced to risk stuffing something trying to fix things myself
ill just fork over the cash to toyota like i always did with the SW20 and the ST184

02-01-2005, 07:19 AM
I have seen one in brisbane(black) and damn it looked sweet, they look a bit like a supra but heaps better :D and look at those flared guards :woot:

02-01-2005, 11:19 AM
yeah :) my other choice was a supra
this is quicker, rarer, and cheaper to insure than a NA supra
handles better too

02-01-2005, 09:04 PM
but supra is sex on wheels :D

02-03-2005, 06:45 AM
ill find someone with a supra and then challenge them to see who can use the car to pick up first

02-03-2005, 08:32 AM
*waits for sarah to hit jaemus*

02-03-2005, 08:48 AM
whoa holdup....

226k+ on the block... Thats insane!

Thats travelled more then my hilux, which is a 92 model, and it gets driven lots.

Don't be surprised if you have to rebuild it. That isn't gonna be cheap at all.

02-03-2005, 10:31 AM
I have seen one in brisbane(black) and damn it looked sweet, they look a bit like a supra but heaps better :D and look at those flared guards :woot:

same. i think i've seen 2. one with a body kit and one without. looked pretty dope.

02-04-2005, 01:52 AM
jauemus - not only is it a group a - its a group a WRC edition ..

Aussie ones got ALL the bells and whisles - hebce the + 80K pricetag when new

things you should find that arent active

yours should have the anti lag system still there

It should have a waterspray kit before your front heat exchanger

it also should have Water injection , not hooked up thats for starters ..

Not advised you get the anti lag happening - but the other two if you can find out how - is very handy

Nods to richard too - 226 thousand K

if its had a good life you MIGHT be ok - but its around now that Head gaskets startt to say " im outta here "

be prepared just incase to at least get this seen too in the future

02-04-2005, 02:06 AM
ohhhh gooooo.. that thing is beautiful!!!

02-04-2005, 04:38 AM
ok i dun care about him racing a supra :P
My name is spelled SERA* :P
AAAND the 226,000kms on it are all highway kms.
It was bought from a place up north of sydney and has been there its whole life. its all highway. We got two inspections on it done (one by toyota who have serviced the car its whole life) and they said everything is in tip top condition and can't believe that the kms add up with how good the engine is..

so shh :P

My 2c
Sera xxx

02-04-2005, 04:40 AM
Dammit, I'm still logged on as jaemus..

Sorry.. anywayz its Sera

02-04-2005, 05:31 AM
ill find someone with a supra and then challenge them to see who can use the car to pick up first

wasnt about racing a supra..

02-04-2005, 06:19 AM
jeez sera quit impersonating me! this is like the 3rd time :)

robbie: shhh! she didnt notice!

like she said, it has had a good life - ill be watching closely for signs of BHG and keeping an eye on the turbo too. but for $20k, it was a steal no matter which way you look at it

stu - damn right, ive found some of those parts, the antilag is there, and i read up on how destructive it is to your exhaust and other stuff, havent located the other bits yet but interested in getting those going

its build number 31.

02-05-2005, 04:35 AM
nah, headgasket isn't bound to die, the turbo should still be in good nick if its all been highway driving.

But, if what you say about it being in tip top condition, if you keep it that way, it will stay that way. And don't bother boosting it, your gonna pay for it with so many k's on it.

As for the watersprayers. Easy enough to enable, if you have a hand in mechanics. A few relays, pressure switches, should be piece of pie. Apparently most of the features can be unlocked within the ECU itself, only privvy to the race teams though.

02-05-2005, 04:38 AM

02-05-2005, 06:12 AM
I thought sera was dating matt?

im all confused

02-06-2005, 12:16 AM
nah PC.. that was over ages ago man. sera is with jaemus in sydney.. they been together for over 12 months im guessing now.

02-08-2005, 03:43 AM
Damn. time flys when you deploy for the army.... whos she gonna be with next?

I hope that was not too rude..... :(

02-08-2005, 09:26 AM
-more than 18 months
-preferably me

lance: yeah ive been looking at the sprayers, apparently its tangled up in some complex fashion with the headlight sprayers - cant find anything that tells me what to connect where, and i cbf pulling all the splash sheilds off everything to work it out - i might just use an external pump and ignore the toyota stuff

also i like having secret rally stuff in my ECU :)

02-08-2005, 09:45 AM
wtf are you two Americans doing posting here in teh Aussie forum? :lolhittin

02-08-2005, 09:48 AM

*having a bad day*

also, jaemus when you get home your gonna be in big trouble for that 'picking up' comment... agh that was just the icing on the cake..

02-10-2005, 04:26 AM
my job here is done *dusts off hands*

02-10-2005, 04:38 AM
sh'es gorgeous ben :) and sez aint bad either HAHA, ,sorry sez had to say it

u guys stress way to much about kilometres, it means shit all u know, u can have a well maintained engine that does country miles and it will never die, or u can have a well/poorly maintained city driven car that will die after 100 thou, honestly, do u guys really think it means that much? a good jap car will go for ever, it's not a holden or a hyundai

if it has been serviced and not been boosted there is no reason why that turbo and headgasket shouldtn' be perfect

my car has 330 000 on it and the turbo (origional) is just giving way now and startin to smoke, and i've been boosting it for 4 years,

don't stress about it ben, as long as the timing belt is good worry about the other crap if ur modding or if it starts to become a problem

and the intercooler is a peice of piss, u guys a wooses! i had my mates 205 intercooler on his garage floor in the time it took him to make me lunch (he left me to it he didnt' know what he was doing), it's not different from a 185 intercooler but it's got water around it, just drain teh water and take it off, and from memory the oil filter on teh 205 is easier to get to from underneath, take off the stone guard and have a gander,

nice work man, i'm very jelous, lets hope the red beasts can cruise together one day, (i'd better get a bigger turbo to keep up HAHA)

02-10-2005, 07:54 AM
*hides from sera

thx for the tips keyroo, ive since checked out a few things and the ic isnt that bad to remove, infact, for getting to the plugs, you can jsut swing it out of the way and not disconnect any water fittings.

i forgot ur car had 330,000 on it! makes me feel better just thinking bout that.
the t/belt was replaced only like 20,000 klicks ago or something.

im sure we will cruise again if we have another interstate meet like bathurst. too bad i only had the 184 then :)

02-10-2005, 10:11 AM
*b!tch slaps keyroo*
Ahh now i feel better :D
haha sorry spanky pants..

anyway myyyy car has only 89,000 :P
*does a little jig* :wiggle:

02-10-2005, 10:44 AM
what was that 89 hp???

02-12-2005, 09:50 AM
lmfao.. not that i can say much.. thats probably all mine gets at the fly haha

we should feel honoured that of the 2 posts outside of OT dom has made one was in here

02-12-2005, 10:47 AM
and i didnt even make this thread obvious by saying ST205!!!!!!!! all through the title

02-12-2005, 12:26 PM

i'm more amazing ur gf hasnt' killed me yet for that 89 hp comment :P

02-14-2005, 11:49 PM
guessing she hasnt noticed

unfortunate that with the sera, engine swap options are limited

02-15-2005, 07:54 AM
get a bigger rubber band?? heheh

ok i'm done :P

02-15-2005, 08:28 AM
guessing she hasnt noticed

unfortunate that with the sera, engine swap options are limited4efte - from the starlet Gt ( import )

Strengthened + boosted with the right goods- its good for over 190 KW at the front wheels .. ( current FWD toymods record holder is 196 FrontWKW)

Sera - Swap this puppy in and make jaemus cry ;)

02-16-2005, 04:06 AM
thats the one viable option - im not too scared tho, unless she gentically engineers a money tree

keyroo - i want to laugh so loud but im afraid if i do she will hear me and ask why

02-16-2005, 06:19 AM
HAHAHHA,, suprised she hasnt' been on the board, don't tell me she got a life! she can't get a life before me!!
