my 94 6gc 5spd 7afe I get 30ish city... on the highway if I cruse at 2500-3k 65mph Ill get around 40mpg...

now my mr2 with my 3sgte / e153 It all depends on how uch I boost.. off of boost on the highway on the way to philly this summer I was getting 30mpg.

Not sure how any of that would help him...

When was your last tune-up? maybe you're due?

plugs, wires, cap&rotor, half a can of seafoam maybe

wouldn't hurt to check for a vacuum leak either

I'm getting the same thing, I've tried a tune up, fuel pump, air filter, MAP sensor, o2 sensor, timing adjustment, seafoam through intake and in gas tank. I just live with it for now.

fuel filters in toyotas are rarely ever clogged... this is an argument I always tend making

but anyways.. try your ignition components if not try the o2 sensor usually does the trick.

have your injectors flow tested maybe slider?

wow that was a pretty quick response thanks guys. i have changed the cap and rotor, as well as the coolant temp sensor because it was throwing engine codes. I have heard of seafoam very briefly.. what is it exactly? and a few months ago i ordered a wire set but they were wrong i have'nt tried since anyone have a link to those?

my sisters gt is about 13* advanced and it gets about 22 mpg. my alltrac is 10* and gets 18-23 mpg depending on boost.

u may want to pull your injectors out and get them cleaned professionally or u can get new ones for around 100-120 online

also your egr may have crapped out

what kind of plugs cap and wires did u use, when i put bocsh on my camry my milage went down and i switched to ngk componets with a factor cap and rotor buttion it went up

What would an EGR have to do with gas mileage? Just wondering what the impacts are to a failed EGR when I see the blocked off all the time......?

O2 sensors will cause major decreases in gas mileage when they fail from my experience. Check those and def try seafoam! Also a fouled plug may be lurking in there even if you have no mis-fire yet!

I have the same proble and my millage was really poor, attempt everything, change of the sensor cleaning of injectors, Wires change , change of rotor change of spurs, I did of everything, I only lack myself to make a exorsismo, and nothing I work, this consuming too much gas, asks the experts of toyota and they recommended to clean valve ERG and to change valve PCV, besides verifying that the catalyst is not obstructed , takes my car to the mechanic and indeed Valve ERG was obstructed full of carbon, also changes to the catalyst and valve PCV, and my car change, before is 15 MPG and now perhaps my celica crosses 40MPG, this is the solution to its problem
