Yep... i test drove one... ridiculous midrange power. 4th gear, 50-80 in what felt like 2 seconds.

You can get a new one for about $23-24k if you have a good friendly dealership and some bargaining skills. :)

I got a 2007 down to $23500, fully loaded, arrest-me-red, and that thing was sexy. The only thing that i don't like is the hood on these things. The normal Mazda 6 hood looks better.

Oh, and protip: don't race a stock celica against these. :P

I meen its not that much compared to what an alltrac was sold for considering how much more this car has in it... but then again that was early 90s this is now... I dont see these cars selling... will prolly end up like the way a alltrac is to a celica/toyota enthusiast....

It has issues handling power. The drivetrain only engages the rear coupling differential when traction is lost up front, not all the time, it's in fwd mode 90% of the time. Unfortuneately that same coupling differential is quite weak, and while the engines are capable of fantastic power, anything above 340 seems to start breaking things :(

Mazda 6 AWD is more FWD with a transition to RWD when needed... It's a pretty horrible system...

Its cool, but I would still rather have an alltrac or something. Or a Bigfoot truck. or a new bike. or and aeroplane. or something fast. eh.

Drove one at one of their events, pretty impressive, handled surprisingly well. Hated the clutch on it though, would suck for everyday driving.

^Why? real lite?

The engagement point on the clutch is super small and it is on the heavier side, takes some getting used to. At first I laughed when my friend told me that the clutches are horrible, since I've driven a few cars with aftermarket clutches, but when I got in I almost stalled it.

I didn't have a whole lot of problem with it.... felt like my friend's DA GSR clutch.

But yeah, i can see how it would be wierd. :)

You really think even an STi Impreza would own this? The mazda has like 50 hp and 60 ft lb torque over it...I can see the weird AWD on the mazda being stupid though, if they were gonna make a fast AWD car they shoulda put a real AWD system in it.

It's a pretty cool car. I ran one with my alltrac and I beat it pretty bad though.

that scooby is pretty fast stock, theres tons of aftermarket for it, it has a real awd system, and im pretty sure it will outlast the mazda

except maybe 2nd gear exploding.

except maybe 2nd gear exploding.

Sti's don't seem to have that problem as far as I know, common with the modded WRXs 2005 and earlier though.
