It seems to me that most countries besides the U.S. seem to call it Sa-leek-a.
I call it Sell-ica

I never call it a Celica.

Or Sell-icka.

Or Sell-eeka.

I just called it a GT.

hrm. If I don't call it by name I pronounce it "Sell-ih-cuh". Kinda redneck sounding I guess. But usually I call 'er by name.

Redneck or not and right or not, it's how you'll hear most people with Toyota (the company, dealerships, etc.) in the US pronouncing it.

sellikah...'cause it's easier to say...I don't have to squeeze my balls to get the high-pitch accented "se-LI-kah" like they do in Oz.

Wellll...

After calling it sel-ee-kah for years, I watched an old Toyota commercial to confirm it and it is pronounced sel-ee-kah.

Anyone else is wrong, sorry!

I've been saying Sell-E-Kah, but this thread prompted me to look up how it's written in Japanese:

セリカ (SERIKA)

Which means it should be pronounced Se-li-ka, since r and l are the same sound in Japanese.

No I'm playing.

However, the Brits sorta kinda invented this language and one would guess they would say Celica in the proper way.

Don't you Americans ever say car names right? lol

You all say Porsche wrong too.

You say "Porsh" when REALLY it's pronounced "Porsh-ah".
