I haven't been on here much since I sold my old 93 GT. I've been pretty much staying out of cars since my daughter has been born. I picked up a beat to fuck Festiva in November and decided to swap it out and make a little v8 killer out of her. Nothing special just a basic swap plus Turbo. Here's a few pics of the car as it sits now. Should be a little tire roaster thats for sure!

This pic is of the wideband o2 bung right after the narrowband o2 sensor.

I had an `88 Festiva. Fuzzbubble.

That was one wicked little car. Underpowered as hell though. That will make a great sleeper.

I thought you were getting a Galant VR4, Darren... :(

Did you just turbo the existing motor? Or is it a Mazda B6T swap?

The B6T swap is ridiculously easy. Just wiring, and one custom mount.

I did get the Galant VR4 then I sold it quick style. I never liked dsm's and I don't know why I bought it, just a good deal on it I guess. Anyways, neither of you are correct on the motor.

The motor is a BPT out of a Mazda Familia (AWD Protege in Japan), it is a 1.8T DOHC. These never made it to the states. Stock rating is 185hp and 180ft/lbs on the stock vj20 turbo on 8psi. This requires a little more modding than the b6t which I first considered, but I just wanted more power. I would have loved to throw a 3sgte in it which was my original plan, but this is a project for me and the wife and we didn't want to have it last more than the winter is long.

Stock it has 63hp on the B3 1.3l.

On another note, I read some threads from months back and I thought I was cool with most of you, I knew I had a few haters but there are some 2 faced people on this site. I'm a little disappointed in some of you.

DAMN!!

Nice.... that little bastard is going to be fast as hell. As well as funny as hell. :)

I have a buddy that did a B6T in his old Festiva, and with pretty mild mods it was a mid to low 12 second car, depending on how bad he spun through most gears. :P Open downpipe... sounded like shite.

CelicaGT4 , I'm highly impressed! What an awesome amount of work you had to do to it, though.

I'd like to see you post a picture of the outside of the car, as I don't think I ever saw one that I was aware of.

You must have a nice heated garage to work in. Without that , forget about winter time projects.

I think it might have been a lot less work to supercharge it. You could have avoided all that fancy corkscrewed exhaust tubing but maybe you didnt want to loose 20 % power having a fan belt driving the supercharger to boost power 50%, resulting in only a 30% gain.

Am I right in thinking that it doesnot cost any power to spin a turbo up from the exhaust gases.

You have to excuse me, none of my friends are speed freak gear heads,
just 1/2 gassed backyard fix it yourselfers only because there's no money to pay a real mechanic.

And what is even more worst is they are totally disinterested in helping to do a swap/build like you did, unelse I pay them 14.oo hour.

One of their cars broke last sat niite & he wanted me to drive over & fix it for free, so I said---Let me throw this right back at you. I'll help you for the same amt you wanted from me, to help me out.

I'm thinking, I need to find better friends. :lolhittin

I'd love to be able to do swap & build like u do, but too bad I dont have the garage and my friends dont want to help me do it.

Please post more pictures when it is done.
